New Mexico

Have to see the final stats but I think Cole Henry was 2-7 from the foul line. We missed the front end of several 1 and 1's. I don't want to rag on these guys but there is no excuse for poor ft shooting. It's the only shot where no one is guarding you and you have time to line it up and shoot it however you want. Most of our foul shots were not even close.

Another heartbreaker....We just don't have the horses to compete with the top of the conference. Close, but I would say that our coaching has made this team better than the talent we have. Not bagging on the players, but most are not top-end talent even for the MWC. Gutsy, hard working, and take pride in what they represent, but the talent level is just not there.....yet.

Just wow, can't underestimate the heart of this team, but 28% from the FT line is extremely pathetic at this time of the season...I hate moral victories, but again NO ONE is going to want to play us in Vegas

The upcoming schedule favors us to get some much needed wins 6 more..3 at home...Sure hope we find something between then, for sure beeeet the sheeep at The Whale on Saturday

We shot better from the 3 (7 of 13 for 53.8%) than the previous UNLV game, but just pathetic again from the stripe...4 of 14 for 28.6%. I am not sure there is a worst free throw shooting team than Wyoming. Those 18 turnovers, yielding 17 points to NM sure didn't help our cause either. Hopefully UW can put together 3 or 4 complete games in the MW tourney...we haven't had a complete game for a bit.

All the missed free throws are frustrating to watch.

That being said, college basketball badly needs to get rid of 1 and 1's. Go straight to the double bonus like the NBA does.

High school made that change for this season. After 5 fouls in each quarter it goes straight to double bonus. Fouls reset at quarter rather than half.

When I played in HS our coach had a rule that if you couldn’t hit 20 of 25 free throw attempts you had to shoot granny style in actual games. You know, the shot where you start with the ball between your knees and shot underhanded? You can bet every guy practiced free throws for hours so he didn’t have to do that!

FT shooting is hard when you’re tired. It’s really difficult to hit 75% when you’re in the middle of a game BUT they need to do better

We are shooting FT’s at a 65.7% rate on the season. Most seasons, the average in men’s college basketball is right around 70%.

Because we are only averaging 11.3 FT’s per game (very low), it is only costing us 0.5 point per game compared to if we shot at the average 70%.

Our bigger problem, by far, is turnovers.
