New Mexico Bowl confirmed

This is a cool game for me, i have plenty of friends that go to temple and 2 that play for temple. DT Levi Brown and LB Ahkeem Smith.. i went to high school with them at Liberty High along with NW Qb Dan Persa, Pitt's Wr Devin Street and QB Anthony Gonzalez and Syracuse's Wr Jarrod West.

im excited, but nervous haha, Go Pokes

Blame the PAC-12. HAD USC been eligible we would have been playing a PAC school as they are the normal opponent for the New Mexico Bowl. weird year in the PAC.

Temple is a solid team

Just looked at the Temple roster and I can guess why they are a run oriented offense...... their O-line is HUGE. Must be 6 or 8 over 320#

Think there's a chance of bringing our 2009 D-line back? Because damn, our guys have enough issues with O-lines that are only a little bigger than they are.

They run the ball very well and play tough defense, going to be a harder game then most think

Our OL is bigger than the Green Bay Packers' OL.

Doesn't mean they are good! Size isn't everything, no doubt they are talented....however if Wyoming can be faster that could play a huge role.

First, I don't care who they play, I'll be there.
Second, I think its a good bowl timing wise. No conflict with Christmas and no elaborate travel plans.
Third, I think it will be good experience for our defense and freshmen QB.
Fourth, let's win this game before we start moaning that we aren't playing anyone.
For those who think losing to a BCS qualifying school is better than winning a bowl game, your daft. We aren't ready to challenge a BSC conference bowl foe, yet. Another year of preparation and a regular season win against a BSC conference foe and then I'll start complaining that are bowl opponents aren't good enough.
Every time fans and players think like that, they get beat.

As I said on my Twitter account, Temple is in PA but people in PA don't know where the Hell Temple is. I know this as I use to live there.

The Temple Owls ... :willybs:

We're the largest University in the largest city in the state. We're the second largest University in Pennsylvania behind Penn State. We have nearly 10K more students than Pitt. With all of that in mind, no one has heard of us, and no one knows where we're located. Makes a lot of sense. You must've lived in Pennsyltucky.

Go Owls.

I could say something but I will not waste my time!!! :brick:

I hate no-win situations.

Beat Temple, and the critics say, "It was fucking Temple!"
Lose to Temple, and the critics say, "Wyoming was always a fraud blah blah blah blah blah."

The ENTIRE MWC got the shaft in matchups. Boise vs a 6-6 coachless ASU team? TCU vs La Tech? Hair Thompson botched these tie-in's.

My problem is not the opponent as I do not know enough about them and I know anybody can beat anybody on any giving day. I just feel that Wyoming deserved more this year but I also feel Boise State and TCU both got shafted.

+1 million. AFA gets Toledo. Give me a fucking break! :tickedoff: :tickedoff:

+100.

I'd add if we think we deserve a better bowl, there's a simple solution, win more games. NM Bowl is perfect for where our team is right now. Temple is a good matchup and should be a good game.

Since winning more games helped Boise and TCU...

FYI Wyoming, Temple and opponents sagarin ratings...

63. Temple..........70. Wyoming

losses
26. Penn St.............8. Boise St
50. Toledo..............19. TCU
78. Ohio.................21. Nebraska
105. Bowling Green....73. Utah St

wins
103. Ball St..............53. SDSU
104. Maryland...........69. AFA
106. Miami (OH)........105. Bowling Green
115. Army...............134. Weber St
124. Kent St.............136. CSU
138. Buffalo.............148. UNLV
193. Villanova...........168. UNM
199. Akron...............179. Tx St

If it is anything like the rest of the year we will still be the underdogs, and that is fine with me. Interesting matchup, not a team we see often. Maybe Bill Cosby will be there! Interesting that they lost to Toledo, Ohio and Bowling Green, all teams we have played in recent years (and beat). The loss to Penn St was only 14-10, and the Bowling Green loss was a close one, while we barely beat Bowling Green. Two 8-4 teams, should be a good game. I look forward to it!

Still waiting for you to tell me what podunk town in Pennsyltucky you lived in.

I like the matchup. Great exposure because it's the first bowl game. Teams both play into each other's weaknesses. Should be exciting!
