Trey Norman an athlete from TX committed to the pokes today, cannot find much on him, but it looks like the staff is going hard in TX

Holy shit we should be going for their reciever, that dude made like three spectacular grabs, especially around the 30 second mark

Just me or does it look like he side armed it a few times? Kid has a nice arm, pretty accurate and he is fast :thumb:

Based upon his highlight tape, I would be very surprised if Newton gets a look at QB. My personal opinion is that he projects as a safety. If I had to put him at an offensive position, I would be thinking WR much more than I would QB.

I really would like to see the staff go hard after about 8 offensive lineman and 5 defensive lineman. We need to find some horses along our lines.

I agree here. We have been without a "good" OL for a long time now (for Sween's entire career). I can't remember when our QB wasn't running for his life on just about every play. We seldom open holes for the running plays either, although they did do a little better against AF. For comparison, watch the replay of the BSU/UW game and look at the holes they were opening for their running game. This is a high priority IMO.

The troubling thing is we really need lineman, but even if we do manage to sign a great class of them, they still probably won't be ready to contribute for another 2 years. It's rare for a true freshman to succeed on the line and its the one position where a redshirt is most appropriate IMO.

PokePride has a small write-up on it.

True. Thank you Chad Germer.

I wonder what would happen if the Pokes made offensive linemen the "glamor" position. The coaches always talking about their skills - the linemen always appearing in tv interviews, talking about the game - their pictures always appearing in the press and on the internet. I wonder if prospective recruits would say "Hey, this is the place I want to go - they really value us".

I agree we absolutely need lineman on both sides n maybe some corners because the gipsons will both be gone soon
We've got Caraway,White,Browder,Huff and James as backups at CB. We need O&D-linemen the most.
