Finally a clear sign of progress from the POKES. IMO, the best thing about this is that it is also a clear sign that they haven't packed it in. Great job by the coaches and athletes!

My criticism is with the coaches, however. You gotta trust these young guys or they won't trust themselves. I'd opened that SOB up and put the throttle down in the second half. Let the dogs eat. These kids earned it; let the killer instinct develop. It was like safetying up most of the second half. I guess I get it, but I don't like it.

I know, I know, fanboys, the coaches walk on water. Clearly it was the best strategy.

I think he got one to commit to walk on, but he was offered a scholarship by a D-2 school and took it. The fact that Bohl would not use just one scholarship for one of the most important positions (kicker is absolutely one of the most important positions I don't care what anyone says) is asinine. Bohl deserves all the crap in the world for the kicking woes. The kicking game is squarely on Bohl for not recruiting a kicker.

I do recall a few here (not mentioning names) stating before the season that the only way Year #2 of the Bohl era could be labeled a success was with a Bowl appearance -- which was absurd.

As to KC's comments about this year's basketball team, I agree. This year's team is very young, it's a transitioning season, and the forecast for this year won't include either an NCAA nor an NIT berth. Last year they got hot at just the right time and went on that run...that if not for that run they were headed back to another CBI. If this year's team gets a CBI invite I'll consider it a major success...but I don't think they will.

Fair question. I've been trying to post an answer for awhile, despite phone calls, my own technical and social limitations, and a fair amount of passive aggressiveness. After several efforts and much editing:

I've been reading both Wyoming boards for a long time, and I like them both. I've only been posting the last year or so, given the issues noted. I like this board for entertainment and information - decent debate, fun discussions and the occasional rant for color. This is the beer board, if you will, the digital discussion equivalent of live music, as compared to slick studio tunes.

This season things have deteriorated. Little to no discussion, and way too much bickering as to who has the biggest prick, or who is the biggest prick.

This is where the Beav comes in - his opinions are so strong that he becomes a tool for venting and transferring a lot of shit onto him. Perhaps he desrves it, probably not.

What I expect is that this season we learn to be competitive, by whatever criteria one chooses, and we win more than we lose next year. Please don't misunderstand, I hate losing with a passion...I don't buy into the idea that we can't have good teams here because we can't recruit (bullshit) or our academic programs aren't up to snuff (nonsense - our engineering and geology programs used to be world class, and maybe they still are). I believe and expect that we will build a community that succeeds...ask coach Shyatt whether we can do that here.

In the meantime, given that civility doesn't apparently exist on fan boards, I want us to quit feeding on one another. Barring that, I want higher quality insults. At the end of the day, aren't we all Poke fans?
