ACS will land a scholarship at a DI program without a problem. He lead a fairly bad team with an inexperienced (and in my opinion lousy) OC & HC, against a really tough schedule to some nice victories. If you're a HC out there and you are looking to bolster your QB situation in a hurry you can either look to the JC ranks or to a transfer. When he first arrived DC grabbed Benjamin and started him. I think ACS is in a better position than most JC QBs as he's proven himself at this level. I went to the link and watched the highlights. I wish he was coming back. Maybe Smith will step in and fill the role, but it won't be overnight. Even with our "easier" schedule a bowl game will be a difficult task.
First of all I think DC is and will be a great coach. I have a couple of friends here in the Phoenix area that are very respected high school coaches in the valley and have been to two national coaches clinics here in Phoenix and have attended DC clinics. Both have walked away very, very impressed with him. More than any coach they have ever attended, two years in a row. As for ACS, the young man had potential to be a good QB at Wyoming, but now we will never know. His stats say other wise for now. 2009 season 7-6 record, 1953 passing yds, 10td-5int. Rushing 336 yds 3tds. Not bad for a freshman, potential for something special. 2010 passing 1702yds 9td-8int, 392 rushing yds 3td. Not a good year. Nevada's Kaepernick had 3022 pass 21td-8int and 1309 rushing yds with 20td. Now that is a good year. And that lousy coach/oc, coached a kid that had 4306 yds passing 33td-11int and 253 rushing yds with another 4tds, Chase Daniel. Out of these three QB's only one of them quit on their team, coaches, fans, boosters and himself.
