Nebraska's starting strong side d-tackle is getting his knee scoped.

Hopefully, everything is all right for the kid and he has a long fruitful football career.

He will miss our game this weekend though.

Our Starting D-Tackle actually. Kid is an absolute mountain and will be missed terribly. Hes listed at 6'6 290 but they showed a pic of him at summer workouts having a 6 pack.
He will be replaced by a 6'3 293 pound Redshirt freshman Carlos Davis. His twin brother Khalil Davis is the first back up at 285 pounds.

Hopefully, the scope finds nothing and the kid returns quickly without any complications.

This is one area, I actually feel kind of good about. I think our line will hold up to Nebraska's dline and we'll be able to move the ball.

I'm more concerned about our dline versus Nebraska's oline. We shut down Northern Illinois' interior running game, but it will be a tall task to do the same against Nebraska. We have to stop the fly sweeps as well. Nebraska will eat us alive if we haven't figured that out by tomorrow morning.

They predict the DT will be back by our next game, no damage.

A BTN analyst tweeted our a few hours ago that the weight difference between nebraskas offensive line vs Wyomings Dline is an average of 43 pounds. So for Wyoming to offset a huge weight disadvantage it makes you wonder if they will cut our Oline the whole game or constantly blitz and stunt. Its going to be all around interesting matchup for sure. Riley loves the jet sweep he lived and died by the jet sweep in Corvallis, ill be interested to see how you guys adjust this week since that was the only real damage on the ground NIU could muster up.

Your running game will be a BIG test. Our linebackers are the strength of our run defense this year. So I guess they will have to carry us through this one. Again interesting matchups for 2 very different teams.

Yeah, Northern Illinois was a good tune-up for Nebraska. They have a physical program that's been in place for years. Their line-up was chalked full of 5th year seniors and upper classmen. They we're big, they we're fast at certain positions. They are much older and more mature. They should have dominated our run defense, on paper.

I'm guessing constant blitz, stunt, and shift is what you'll see. It's what we did versus Northern Illinois. I was kind of surprised. The last few years, the interior of our defensive line got blown off the ball on almost every play. Northern Illinois didn't do that to us at all. In fact, the interior of our defensive line outplayed a bunch of 300+ pound fifth year seniors last week.

Our defense is really fast and can tackle well. How that matches up against Nebraska.....I don't know. I would expect us to be in trouble defensively. Still, I thought Northern Illinois was going to have success playing power football against our d, and it didn't happen. They had two weapons all night: the qb and the future NFL receiver. We shut down everyone else.

Northern Illinois, although not Nebraska, is similar. They are big and physical on both lines and like to play power football. I imagine the game plan for both teams will be the same: stop the run, and make the qb beat you. It should be an old school game of smash mouth football. We'll see who has more success running the ball.

Yeah, I've had scopes. You bounce back from those fairly quickly, but still hurt like hell if you don't have the painkillers in ya.
