NDSU playoff game Sat. 10am ESPN

I actually think FCS football is more in tune with what college football should be. I still get the feeling that the players/coaches still care about their academics. It's still "just a game". I don't have a team that I follow in FCS, but I like certain parts if it. I like the playoffs obviously. I like that the games is still a little bit small time ( and I mean that in an endearing way). FBS has become such a ****show in so many ways. I get so tired of it being such a spectacle. The game has changed so much. I'm hoping the new playoff system will scale it back a little, but the mothership (espn) has certainly played it's part in the destruction of the greatest sport. I'm excited for the FCS playoffs and now I have a team to cheer for. So cheer up Bizon fans. You lost your coach but you gained a fan.

I'm definitely going to watch. I've never really payed attention to FCS, but I am now a NDSU fan. In fact, I can see NDSU becoming my new FCS favorite team. They're kind of regional, it's cold as fuck up there, and North Dakota girls with the way they kiss they keep their boyfriends warm at night.

Go Bison.

Go Pokes!!

I got a weird feeling Coastal Carolina wins this one. Bison have obvious distractions, and Chanticleers are no joke.

I am worried about that as well. A lot has happened this week and above all this will really test the guys on the team as to how much they can hold their focus. I think the fact that this team is so loaded with Seniors and that NDSU has such strong tradition will help, but this will be a tough one. If you want some more insight on the game, feel free to stop by our board @ http://www.bisonville.com During the day we usually have between 175-300 people viewing the football forum at any given time. More during the games.

cmon man... you don't want to see how Bohl's DEFENSE works? how the offense flows? how he commands himself?

wow. #fail.

No, I don't care what he does at NDSU - as things will likely change a bit. Besides, I will see it next fall, at least 9 times...maybe 10 if I can make it to Oregon.

Actually, we're pretty familiar with the Tampa 2 defense. It seems to work fairly well at the FCS level for Bohl. But at the FBS level, its been exposed pretty badly. Nebraska runs it, and they get gashed, torched, lit up, you name it, on defense. We, who have been struggling against good defenses all season, put up 600+ yards and 30+ points on Nebraska's Tampa 2 defense. Last year, Wisconsin, who only made it to the Big 10 title game due to Ohio State and Penn State being on probation, and had lost many star offensive players, put up 70 points on Nebraska's Tampa 2 defense.

While it has worked well for Bohl at the FCS level, color me skeptical at this one. Not against the 4-3 defense, just skeptical at using the Tampa 2 at this level. As you need elite level D-linemen and incredibly athletic linebackers that can cover recievers. We tried something very similar to this a couple years ago. It did not work at all.

I can see that point, obviously having the players in place is what really matters for the tampa 2.

Get 1 shut down Corner and Aggressive D Lineman and you are in business!

don't overestimate Coach Bohl's ability to find players that TACKLE! Tackling is a big problem in football today, and NDSU players do not miss tackles..... you will get that in Wyoming.

I guarantee you our tackling gets better IF they actually practice it.

Bohl in the past would take a lesser recruit if he could tackle like a brick poop house!!

How good are they at propping a guy up and getting drug 12 yards while their teammates flock to the ball carrier to attempt to strip the ball?

I don't care what offense or defense we run as long as we start winning some games. I understand losing is part of the game, and if we lose, it should never be by more than 1 or 2 scores. This getting blown our stuff is old.

Forgive me in advance if this covers a lot of different topics :)

Longtime Bison fan who recently moved to the front range. I will start by saying Congrats to Wyo on getting a great coach! 3 things you will see right away he will bring is discipline, toughness, and his ability to recruit! I get tired of the people that say NDSU hides in DII, well it takes quite a bit to move up to FBS football. Also, I had to spend a great deal of time dealing with stupid ignorant "sheep" fans down here trying to explain to them that just cause it says FCS, doesn't mean these teams don't know how to play football! Those "sheep" fans have nothing to speak to me about any more. And that's what I want Wyo fans to have happen for them! SHUT THESE SHEEP FANS UP!!

Coach Bohl has built a winning program with winning recruits. And in his press conference he said it. Wyoming kids and Colorado kids have to be the backbone of your team. Don't let these kids get away! Bohl will visit every high school in the state and do it often! Look at NDSU roster, the names from ND, Minn, and SD. They are key core guys. NOT 3 and 4 star guys (cause 5 star guys don't go to FCS) that are being chased by everyone under the sun.

For those that watch the game, here's a quick overview of what Bohl will bring to Wyo as far as recruits. RB #23, out of MN, was a Big 10 recruited RB, all wanted him to walk on cause of academic issues. NDSU and Bohl committed to him and used his RS and FR year to get him elligble, SO and JR year now two 1,000 yard seasons. WR #4, 4th all time NDSU receptions list, converted all state running back from ND, fast as hell. FB #40, 2 time ND state wrestling champion won 88 straight matches, can count on 1 hand how many carries he has, has 1 td. But has BLOWN up countless LB while opening holes for 3 years of two different 1,000 yard rushers. WR #82, Mr. Football from MN, Gophers didn't think he had size to play WR there. Oops. LT #77 Billy Turner, MN, one of top OT in FCS and is 19th OT rated on several Draft Scouting rankings lists. NG #60, a top DT in FCS and probably is the best run stuffing DT in FCS, from small town ND. LB #52 from ND, Title game #1 game MVP, is tough as nails! Fast and is never out of position. Dislocated shoulder vs K State, went to sideline and popped it back into place, played a few playes later, and also played the next few weeks with brace. CB #1 from MN, Faster then hell! 21 career INT's, NDSU record, and FCS record 7 of them returned for TD's. Gophers said he was to small and too slow for FBS football. Oops.

And to answer the question of getting drug 12 yards while others tried to strip ball, no that doesn't happen. If the tackler doesn't pop the ball out on the initial hit, that runner is done and goes down. Don't miss tackles and if the first guy stands them up, the second guy is usually so close that he just helps finish him off.

I just have never liked the fact that the Dakota schools took forever to man up and go FCS. I'll give the Fargo school credit, they went first and have done very well in FCS. Also, I think the Dakota schools all should be in FCS. It's a good fit. Too bad that the NCC schools couldn't have moved up in an FCS conference together.

Well, it was your administration at UND that was opposed to the conference moving up. Hayduke.......why do you troll this board acting like a Poke fan? You did the same thing on the CSU board before the Bison game with the Rams too. Bizzare behavior.....

Put down the beer and brat and pay attention.

I live in Fort Collins. I took classes at CSU, transferred them to UND where I started and graduated there. UW is my graduate school. Thus, I will cheer UW, CSU (after UW) and UND.

Nothing "bizarre" about it. Although I will call CSU the sheep when they oppose the Cowboys.

I agree that UND drug its feet longer than FU. But, all the Dakota schools should have went I-AA when the Montana schools did. Up until the move up by FU followed by the other Dakota schools, the only D-I program in the Dakotas since the late 40's has been the UND hockey team. One of the reasons I love UND hockey.

To come here and call the tradition at FU in football greater than UW is a bit "bizarre", being that most of the championships won by FU have been in D-II, while Wyoming, for years, has had the balls to play at the FBS level and win some bowl games and championships. FU was a big fish in a little bowl. 7-3 against FBS over the past few years is impressive for an FCS program, but it is still an FCS program, now a big fish in a little bigger bowl. (Admittedly, UND is a small fish in that same bowl...)

But, I gotta give FU its due for this FCS run. Bohl has done a helluva job there and hopefully will continue his winning ways at UW. But, I'm not kidding myself. FU will continue winning in football at the FCS level. I can only hope UND can find a decent coach and can catch up.

But, I'm also pissed because now that he's the Pokes coach, I can't call Bohl "Mr. Clean" anymore!

Big decision for me in 2015. When I go to the UW/UND game, do I wear my UND or UW gear? UND is my undergrad school, so I'm kinda leaning that way. I wonder if I can get away with both?

Crickets.

That's all you'll hear from the University of Agriculture and Applied Science folks that can't back up their BS accusations.

Crickets.

I suppose the next things these fools will want is for me to post my "W" student number. Well, it starts with W0363...they can guess the rest.

I probably should demand an apology from these yahoos, but what' s the point? They're too busy telling us how the Buffaloes of Fargo invented the game...

NDSU and North Dakota State University both trending on twitter.

Espn loves NDSU. Theyve made money off NDSU playoff games and espn gameday.
