Wow, BSU got kinda hosed down the stretch

Last 4 mins Refs just misplaced their whistles and let all sorts of shit go but that last shot you get the guy to commit and leave his feet and you don't call the foul that was a serious bs call.

How do you figure? When the defender landed, he landed on the court and made zero contact with Marks. The contact came when Marks jumped in to the already landed, and now vertical, defender.

If you honestly believe that wouldn't be called 95% of the time outside of Dayton I'd be wasting my time trying to explain anything different. Hell if the role was reversed and that was Dayton taking a last shot that gets called.

The correct call was made and I actually believe the correct call would be made in that situation about 2/3 of the time. Refs miss it a lot and reward the offensive player for flailing about and initiating contact, but in this case the call was correct.

If you want to complain about officiating look at some of the other possessions down the stretch where Marks was hammered going to the rim. Those should have been called.

I agree with Nowhere, a lot of calls prior to the last one that should have been called.

All I know is that if the ref HAD called that foul, there would be a lot more controversy and disagreement than by not calling the foul. If it's not a clear cut foul (which it wasn't), then don't call it.

I said the last 4-5 mins of the game the Refs just lost their whistles and I know Marks was hammered a number of times while Dayton was making that come back but we'll revisit this non call when it's Wyoming and see if you feel the same way.

For as long as I can remember and I can show you at least 10 fouls Adams/McManamen got called on this year for that exact scenario and never once did I think they got a bad call. If you leave your feet and the shooter initiates contact that is on you.

Either always call it or never call it but don't screw a game by calling it sometimes and not other times.

Except he was back on his feet when contact occurred. If Marks had jumped straight up like a normal shot, there would have been no contact.

I do agree with your point that that foul has been called all year but then not now. While consistency is certainly an issue, I'm of the opinion that that should not be a foul all season, including tourney time.

Well we agree 100% that is as bad as a flop in my book but I don't think it will ever be a no call but I wish it would be.

That play didn't cost Boise State. Crapping their brains out the last five mins cost them the game. The final play was just the icing. Marks looked like he learned the game of basketball a few hours before tipoff. That final 5 mins by him was horrific and a terrible display by the MWC POY. I get it, he has a knee injury ,blah blah blah, the reality is, BSU choked. They were up ten with five mins remaining and couldn't close the deal.

As fans we always turn to one or two plays in critical times that are obvious, but forget that the plays leading up to it put them in that situation. BSU should have NEVER been jacking up a three to start with at the end. Marks had turn over after turn over in the final possessions. He dribbled the ball into the corner and got double-teamed. Now, suddenly, reward him with FTs. BS. He blew it and Boise blew it.

Boise didn't score during the last 4:14 of the game and that is what cost them the game and I don't think anyone is arguing that but when you are playing a team at home when there are not supposed to be any home team games and you call a tight game for all but the last 5 mins of which you let them play street ball it has to be questioned.

I see the home court thing. I totally agree that is BS. I am simply saying is that it seems like everyone is talking about the final play. I am saying that final play was just another crappy play of ten they had to close the game.

Either way, the MWC is 0-2 in tourney games thus far. (Including NIT).

Ya shitty start here is to UW & SDSU making at least a lil noise.

SDSU has a cap on their success this spring. They're not getting passed Duke. Plain and simple. Nowhere near enough scoring power. It really comes down to Wyoming to make a legitimate Sweet Sixteen run.

WOW!!! The Big XII is a bigger joke than the MW. Both Baylor and Iowa State got kicked out. LOL

I'm watching SMU vs UCLA right now. I really like this SMU team and was impressed by them when we played em. They are really physical and seem mentally tough too. Nic Moore is dangerous. Tough for me though I always root for Mountain West to west coast teams so UCLA falls under that for me. Awwww whatever who wins is who wins just entertain me

wow SMU goal tended themselves right out of the tournament. Really hard to swallow that loss and that shot had no chance of going.

I just won my UCLA +4 bet. I had a feeling they were going to win after all of the crap everyone was talking about how they shouldn't be in the tournament and sure enough they somehow find a way to win

Geezus guys...so much craziness and we're barely even halfway through today's games. I'm sooo nervous for tomorrow.
