NCAA Football 2010

Brian Johnson (former Utah QB) will grace the cover for the Playstation 3 game. Just found this interesting. The MWC is definitely gaining some national attention. I can't help but to think about how cool it would be to have a Poke on the cover someday.

Jared Zabransky from Boise was on the cover two years ago.. maybe these "mid-majors" aren't so bad afterall...

There was a Poke on the cover in 2002 I think. Can't remember who it was, but he was a receiver. Malcolm Floyd maybe?

Chris Weinke, Florida State's Heisman Trophy winning QB, was on the cover in 2002. I'm 100% sure that a Wyoming Cowboy has never been featured on the cover of the NCAA Football series. They tend to pick athletes from teams that made some serious national news. In fact, the only two players from non-BCS teams (Brian Johnson of Utah and Jared Zabransky of Boise State) only were placed on the cover after their teams won a BCS bowl. To be quite honest, the Pokes haven't had a team or player (with the possible exception of Javon Bouknight and Devin Moore) that deserved to be on the cover of the game. If we ever get an athlete on the cover of the game, it probably means we just played in a BCS bowl, and probably won it.

It may have been a copycat game, but there was one that featured a Wyo receiver on the cover of one of their versions (Nintendo?). I remember seeing it at the time, but I didn't own that game system so I didn't buy it.

FYI...some computer geek put together covers for PS2 a few years back (after the LV Bowl), 2 different once I believe, both featuring WYO. Surely they are still out there somewhere, available no charge...slip your old cover out, put the WYO one it. Whalah.
