Nance update

Per the Lakers twitter account, Nance broke his nose today in practice. Not sure how long this will keep him out though...

Well that's not good.

I watched the Lakers game last night and Nance was in street clothes still.

then he breaks his nose, man oh man, tough guys showing him what's up in the NBA, he'll be fine, just can't wait to actually see him in action!!!!

Bastards, Comcast or whoever, in Denver area NBA channel 843 have posted a notice that the game is not being carried on this channel because of network contracts. Bastards.

Probably on Time Warner Sports or Altitude...

This is gonna be really interesting to watch. Damn a bunch of rough luck to start for Larry. What if he just comes out straight fire when he hits the floor? I hope so! Dude's the best man, fucking Cowboy legend!!! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

One thing is clear: the Lakers are doooooooooggggshiiiitttt. That is a terrible basketball team. 0-4, 0-3 at home, and I don't think any of their opponents so far are playoff bound this season. Russell isn't ready to run a team, they have no point guard to take up the slack, and asking the offense to run through Kobe (at a point in his career where he should be the facilitator) is just going to be interpreted by him as an invitation to chuck more shamelessly than he is. They are atrocious defensively. Byron Scott is too old school for the NBA. Lakers might be a 25 win team this season. Here's hoping they get Larry some run this season, they need a defense/energy guy so there's room for him if Scott figures it out.

25 win team? I'd say more like a 10 win team at the moment. Nance was active for the first time last night, but didn't play.

Fuckin Tarik Black gets off the bench before Larry does? Give me a break.

Black started 27 games last year. It isn't that appalling.
Black has good size, so he can be a solid backup center. The bigger joke right now is guys like bass and kelly coming off the bench before Larry. When I saw the transition defense (or lack thereof) and Larry sitting on the bench I cringed. The way they're playing right now, Larry's energy and athleticism could do so much for them. Guys on Lakers forums are starting to share these same sentiments more and more

I'm sure that his broken nose had a little to do with the playing time. He was wearing the mask some but might as well give him some time to let nose and knee get 100%

Yes, by all means keep giving significant minutes to that dude who was an undrafted free agent and has already been cut by one team.

At least the Lakers have the right man in charge for what should be a tank job.

Transition D was a joke, that's for sure. Brandon Bass is a better player than Black and a serviceable backup big. Kelly is supposed to be a stretch player and in theory offers a different skill set than Larry but he just isn't very good at filling that role.

God damn you Larry Nance, you have me watching Laker games and analyzing their rotation. I hate the Lakers so much.

saw a tweet today from Byron Scott that stated he may see action tonight as he wants to stir up his bench, we'll see

quote from Byron scott in this article states to the effect that nance will get his shot on this road trip

Been watching Lakers game tonight and Nance has got 16 minutes. He hit a couple of deep 2 point jumpers and hit a couple of free throws. Has 5 rebounds also. Looked good. He will be getting more time I can tell. Scott kept him in during the 3rd and quite a bit of the 4th.
