NANCE IS A LAKER!!!!!!!!

I am reading through the Lakers message board and I quickly remembered why I hate Laker fans.

But I did like this comment from a guy referring to all the idiots on that forum talking shit on Nance:


You gotta love the posts by people who think the pick sucks because they personally haven't heard of the guy. If the name Larry Nance doesn't ring a bell in your basketball mind then you aren't as knowledgeable about the game as you think you are. Then there are those who think the pick sucks because some basketball expert journalist said so. Many of the so called experts have no first hand knowledge of the player in reality. These experts are wrong far more often than they are right. Watch some tape of this guy and you will see he has the potential to be a real good player. He's wearing the purple and gold and deservedly so. I think it was a fine pick and they're all a craps shoot anyways. There is no sure thing. Welcome to the Lakers!

As far as all this twitter shit goes...FUCK KOBE! I've always hated that prick. I can't wait till he's gone and off the Lakers so I can pull for a new era with Nance hopefully on the squad. Man I haven't liked a Lakers team since the Showtime era. Guess that's about to change.

I am actually laughing about these tweets though. I mean Portis tweeted his stuff about Rose and Gasol and the Bulls and then they found that Kaminsky from Wisconsin who was drafted by Charlotte had tweeted before that Charlotte hardly gets any fans and it flat out looks boring . lol.......

I am sure from now on all of the players will be watching what they post on twitter.
 
for the 1st time in along time i sat down and watched the draft, thinking Larry would go around 40-60, i heard it on the radio and I damn near crashed, and had to pull over to start my facebooking rants etc....Man oh man I've never been sooo happy for someone I followed so diligently over these past 4 years, he totally worked his tail off in workouts and such i never expected a 1st rounder, but oohhh so happy. Growing up I was a die hard Showtime Lakers fan with Magic and co, tuned out when they got Shaq, but gonna have to go to the storage bins to see if i have any old hats to wear from time to time, lol. As for that twitter stuff, it seems like people aren't happy unless they try to sling someone else in mud with their pathetic lives. All people are entittled to their opinions albeit Larry shouldn't have tweeted that but haven't we all posted something or said something that we wished we wouldn't have. Kobe's in the twilight of his career and hopefully he and Larry can put this aside and Larry grows and learns from this stupidity.
Way to go #22, too bad they retired 22 with Elgin Baylor in LA, but it'll be fun tracking Larry's status and I wish him nothing but the best, always a wonderful day when UW and the 307 is represented in a big way.
Thanks for the memories Larry here's hoping for many more, if it doesn't work out, remember the Globetrotters will always welcome you as well. Go POKES

Exactly why he would pull it and not one current NBA star wants to play with Kobe.
 
Congratulations to Nance...to not only get drafted, but in the first round is so awesome!

It's unfortunate that on his big day his name was trending for all the wrong reasons. To have a three year old tweet dug up and used against you sucks. Oh, the joys of social media.

Funny how a lot of Wyoming players tweet shit they shouldn't during the season and apparently Shyatt took no issue with it, even last season when there was essentially bullying a UW student. Maybe they will finally put a lid on the twitter crap.
 
It's mostly just laker fans, I've been listening to the national media all morning, nothing too scathing. A few draftees last night learned a lesson. Kupchack was just on the Herd and they both agreed it wasn't that big of a deal.
 
Kobe is on his way out too. The Lakers are done with him so if Nance is good enough this little friction shouldn't be a thing. I mean Kobe was a total bitchass to his teammates just last year. He can call them out because they did suck but his huge contract didn't allow for the team to pickup more talent. God even Kobe's ego is worse then MJ. MJ>>>>>>>>Kobe.
Like I said I'm really looking forward to a new Lakers era! I've hated Kobe the whole time and this pick is bringing a whole new light to LA for me.

As far as a city goes I think LA is kinda fun and dark. It's like a more interesting Vegas for me. Extremely toxic, exciting, sweet art, good shows, and some BEAUTIFUL women :hitit: :hitit: :hitit:

Let's hope! It always come back to haunt you. And the entire team badmouthing that kid (and one of them threatening him) for suggesting that Hank, who was in the midst of an all-time horrific shooting slump, should be sat, was just embarrassing.

Remember...the bulk of them are LA punk bitches, who are super entitled trust fund idiots. They are so wrapped up in 3 hour commutes, crime, and pollution, they can't see beyond their noses.

That whole situation was a damn joke with Kobe, and there was a reason he settled "out of court" for an "undisclosed" amount of money. The wealthy MF'er got away with the criminal charges being "dropped" as well.
 
Listening to a radio show in the Twin Cities from yesterday. They were interviewing Wolves coach Flip Saunders (who used to work at ESPN). He actually brought up the Nance tweet.

"Don't try to be a comedian [on social media]. Don't try to be smart. Just do what you do" because it could come back to bite ya. Said Nance "is a pretty good player" but it seemed like he wasn't even on our board.

Nance was on all of the teams boards that he worked out for because he impressed so much in those team workouts.

I don't think Minnesota was a team he worked out for was he? That would explain why he probably wasn't high up on their board.
