Mixed reactions from Laker fans, especially about a tweet Nance put out 3 years ago when everyone thought Kobe was a rapist...

Yeah, you'll always have your dredgers who try starting crap. Joke's on them: Nance's Twitter account has already blown up to over 10,000 followers.

Holy crap, that's awesome for Nance! :thumb:
It seems more rational posters are showing up on there and they are realizing the tweet is from 3 years ago.

Fuck! I despise the Lakers how gut wrenching it will be to root for the team I hate.

Awesome for Larry Lakers or not I'll be there to root him on every game!

I'm no Lakers fan but I will be buying a Larry Nance Lakers jersey for sure. Congrats Larry!!!!

+1!!!!

Can't wait to get me a Nance jersey!

And in 12 months, an Adams one!

Very few people outside of this forum gave Nance the credit to be a first round pick. Most sports writers called him late second or UDFA.

Shyatt and staff can develop players the fact we can't get teams to play against us hopefully will quit being argued as to the quality of what Shyatt can develop.

I'm really interested to see how much of a leash he keeps Adams on next year. With the age of our team and his skills I believe that if Shyatt let's him play he could potentially do what Marks dud this year.

Maybe not player of the year but I believe he had the ability to carry this team further than some are going to give him credit for.

I don't see any reason for any sort of leash.

Adams will be a senior. Not just a senior but has started almost every game of his career.
4th year starter, and current MWC-Tourney MVP, and has shown he can play ELITE defense, and is an even better offensive threat.

He has shown he can take over games, and has done it a lot. There is no reason to slow Josh down next season.

I think he is going to be in contention for MWC POY, and MWC D-POY.

And I really think he can play himself into the NBA draft, and if lightning strikes at the right time, he could go on one of those 5 or 6 game runs through the MWC Tourney and NCAA Tourney and lead a team to the Sweet 16 the way players like D-Wade, Hayward, and Curry have done.

No I am not saying Josh Adams is at their level, but I do think he is dynamic enough, explosive enough, and talented enough to carry a team for a few games. Hell he already did in the first 2 games of the MWC Tourney this past season.
He can do it again, and maybe take them a bit further. If he does that, he may find himself in the first round like Nance.

Beaver it must be said that you called this first with Nance and Adams being NBA level talents. I used to think at one point that was just your brown n gold wishful thinking. After last year though I started to believe the same thing. Your assessment of Adams is spot on :thumb: I'm really excited to see what this new Pokes hoops team is gonna do. We need some bigs to step up for us. If they can just D a little, rebound, and be close rim finishers it could be enough for us to surprise some folks. Count me in on blind optimism in way of Shy and our Pokes right now. Sky's the limit till it crashes on you!

Haha, thank you.
I am sure the team will play defense; or they won't play.
McManamen will be a decent 3 point shooter, and maybe even have some mid range game, and could drive the ball enough to get some close range shots and get to the free throw line.
Herndon will need to bulk up a little but I am sure he is doing what he is supposed to. He has the biggest chance to take a huge step in his offensive game. He could be deadly all over the court next season.
And Barnes, man if he can develop, he could be a beast down low.

I think there is potential for points, and there will definitely be good defense, and some rebounding.

Should be an interesting off-season.

I want to know how players like Barnes, and Aka Gorski, and Trey Washington develop.
That along with Justin James and Austin Conway coming into their own on the team.
