In the good old days, conference commissioners wore blazers and shook a lot of hands. They had lunch with college presidents and pretended to understand nuclear research grants.

At bowl games, the conference commissioner was always the guy in the Hawaiian shirt, posing for the picture between the coaches and the girl in the sash that read, "Broccoli Bowl Queen 1975."

Check this out. The MWC COULD be hurting in next few years. Will the hurt be fatal?

Even if the conference only has eight next year we will be alright, we had 8 before TCU joined. Most teams will be able to find someone to play if it be a FCS or lesser school. It would only be a one year thing.

They need each other, of course, since the WAC is down to six pallbearers. I mean "member institutions.

Fresno and Nevada say they join the same year as Boise, Benson says not until at least 2012 or 2013.

Boise is in for the 2011 season because they left the WHAC before July 1st, since UNR and FSU just recently joined they may have to wait till the 2012 season they are just trying to get in sooner but butthole Benson :butt: is trying to act like is the all mighty king :king: ding-a-ling and not helping either school out and making the exit fee mandatory

Hawaii is seriously thinking of doing the same thing BYU just did. UH thinks they can get a good contract with ESPN by having their home games start around 10 p.m. est. (6 p.m. Hawaii time).

Personally if Hawaii does go Indy, they'll drop football within 5-6 years after they start playing as an indepedent.

Big West would take in all of their other sports on the condition UH pays for all travel from the mainland to Oahu for their conference oppenents.

I think it is 7 hours different, it is three hours off of pacific

Hawaii is 5 hours behind me during DST (I'm in the Central time zone).

Hawaii is 4 hours behind when the rest of the country (except AZ) is off daylight savings.

Hawaii and Arizona don't observe daylight savings.
