MWC/WAC reach deal w/ Nevada/FSU

Just reading Cowboy Altitude's Twitter it appears that it will be a $1 million from each team to leave the WAC, football can start in 2012, all other sports in 2011. Kind of a weird stipulation.

Only 7 conference games in 2011? Burman better get a moving he has 2 games to schedule!
We only have Weber State, Nebraska and Utah State in line as far as I know as of now.

Add on Bowling Green.

I say we shedule those tough SOB's from Bozeman and teach their asses a lesson. Come on "theman" help us make that happen! We'll see how things stack up then, won't we!

If we already have Weber State on there, I don't think we're allowed to, no?

should schedule a MAC team and a down and out WAC team ( New Mexico St maybe). It is kind of weird the differences between football and basketball scheduling. Football you are pretty much guaranteed to go to the post season if you get the right number of wins. Basketball you want to schedule all decent teams so if you end up in the top 3 in the conf your RPI can help you get into the post season. I have no problem scheduling cupcakes in football, but it doesn't really help your basketball team if you schedule Kean state. I was a little suprised that Tom Burman didn't step in and put some pressure on Health to make a better schedule.

You can schedule two FCS, but it sure doesn't look good on the resume.

I believe only one FCS win counts towards your 6 to get bowl eligible so it is considered a waste to schedule more than one.

I thought the Bowling Green series was over...because we were supposed to play them last year but the MAC had some scheduling issues so BGSU helped us arrange a home and home with Florida Atlantic.

Also, wonder how the contract with Boise State gets worked out since we owed them an OOC game at their place, but now will be a conference game.

MSU doesn't want to hurt their strength of schedule by playing UW. Sorry.

At least one person pays attention on this board. Everyone else is too busy bitching about how the whole world is out to get UW and there's a huge conspiracy against UW (see BYU game). The football at UW must be really exciting since conspiracy theories are all that dominate this board.

We should play Temple! at Philly so i can go watch them a lot easier than driving 27 hrs to laramie to see them get blown apart by boise haha

At least you got to see first hand what may turn out to be the #1 team in the nation.

What a moron. In Wyoming's WORST ever year for football, we still be the D1AA CHAMPION as our only victory of the season. MSU or Montana would never stand a chance....and never have. We don't even notice when we play you guys.

For those who don't remember,.....

We beat Furman in the opening game of the 2001 season, 20-14. It was Koenning's second season. We ended the year at 2-9. The only other win was at Utah State, 43-42.

Just think of me as the official WyoNation Historian!
