Caught a little bit of The Monty Show.
According to Monty:
CBS is expected to be fully involved. ESPN is firmly in conversations. Expected that the deal could be fairly comparative with the pee12.
The question to be answered impacting net values is who is producing the games. A higher payment if you are spending that payment to produce the games doesn’t mean the income is better which is part of the pee12 contract. Also the pee12 has not announced a complete TV contract yet.
The MWC is receptive to DTC (direct to consumer) broadcasting. ESPN is looking at having over 50,000 live sporting events a year with varying price packages per month.
Fox just launched a massive DTC option yesterday.
The only thing I don’t know is the cost. I think I saw something that FOX was going to be $20 per month and ESPN will have a variety up to $35 per month. Not sure exactly what it will do with the regular channels from these entities we are used to and the DTC options which will be accessible by streaming only.
Could it become a premium price to access Wyoming sports if the free MWC streaming goes away?
We will have to await when the deal is finalized.
