SDSU throttling UNM 43-28 10 mins to go in the game.

NEV leading BSU 51-46 10 mins to go in the game.

Obviously at this point either game can go either way but so far pretty solid day of Basketball!

UNM came out cold and just got flat out demolished, Game is over 34-55.

We all owe a thank you to Nevada for giving BSU a loss that certainly well help us stay close to the race and not fall to far behind. Nevada beat them pretty easily 75-59.

I definitely don't wanna play a pissed off New Mexico team. But I think that we can still beat them.
With two home games in a row (tonight and wednesday) we gotta go 2-0 in those games.
If we do that, then we are back in contention for the MWC title.

I want to say that all the parody in the MWC is good, but I'm starting to think that it's going to end up keeping a team from getting to the Tournament who otherwise should've maybe been there. While I beleive the MWC is one of the top basketball conferences in the nation, I'm not so sure the selection committe would agree...I don't see too much difference between the B1G, the Big East and the MWC, the only difference is in perception. Both those conferences will put as many as 7 or 8 teams in the Dance while at this point the MWC will be doing well to get 4 while they probably should get as many as 5 or 6...but there's still a lot of basketball to play and the Pokes just need to take care of business and they'll be there at the end.

The MWC is a 9 team conference so it will be very difficult to get 2/3 of those teams into the tourney. Especially when the parody is as strong as it is this year and the teams spend the conference season spreading losses across all teams. The end result will not be the typical bell curve distribution, which means the 5th and 6th place teams in the conference are going to be bubble teams at the mercy of the selection committee. The committee will then have to decide if the parody along with the top 50 RPI's are worthy of giving the MWC 5 or 6 representatives.

At this point.....I think UNM, SDSU, UNLV, CSU go dancing......2 of UW/BSU/AFA/UNR go to the NIT.
