Yes!
Wyo isn't playing a MWC team obviously, but there are plenty of other MWC games going on.
We are playing a D2 team.

UNLV @ Fresno St.
At first glance you say UNLV wins.
Then you remember Fresno SWEPT UNLV last year and UNLV sucks against slow tempo teams with good defenses, plus Frenso is better than last year. And it's in Fresno.
I think Fresno wins this game by a couple points.

USU @ AFA
Good first MWC game for USU. I think the Aggies should take it AFA, even in the Springs.

#21 SDSU @ CSU
CSU has been really good at home in the past, but this isn't last year.
SDSU has gotten back into the Top 25, and are playing really well.
I think SDSU beats the sheep.

Nevada @ SJSU
WAC match-up.
Nevada is 5-8 and SJSU is 6-6.
Toss up game I suppose. But I will go with the home team as it is really hard to win on the road in the MWC.

Seeing how Nevada plays will good for the Pokes, as we play them in a few days to start our MWC schedule.

My picks in order of confidence level:

Utah State over Air Force - Air Force is a really bad basketball team. This game being in the friendly confines of Clune Arena will not be enough to upset a good Utah State team.

SDSU over CSU - Colorado State is just good enough to put a scare into SDSU, but I think SDSU's superior talent will be too much for CSU to handle.

UNLV over Fresno State - UNLV has really looked quite good the last couple weeks. They don't even resemble the team that started this season. Fresno State is still too inconsistent for me to pick them in this game.

Nevada over SJSU - Similar to Air Force, SJSU is a really bad basketball team. Nevada isn't exactly a world beater, but they are still more talented than SJSU. That's enough for me to take Nevada in this game.

In reality, the only game I feel fairly confident about my pick is Utah State over Air Force. In the other 3 games, I wouldn't be shocked if I'm wrong.

Utah State will be a challenge again this year. Their last game they beat USC quite handily. USC had a lot of high flying dunks and flashy stuff but USU sat outside and bombed them with 3's and USC didn't think to play defense.

Also, USU had lost probably their best player due to being arrested for some thing and they don't know if he will return.

Wyoming should run rough shod over Western State today unless they (WS) can hit a few baskets every now and then. UW always has scoring droughts that seem to go on forever.

Can't believe they scheduled the first conference game for CSU on January 1st... No students here. The attendance won't be very good at all. WTH?

That's just my take. They should wait until the holidays are over before starting conference play. My .02.

They used to, but with the new teams in the conference, there are more MWC games, therefore we need to have a shorter OOC schedule and start MWC play earlier.

That makes sense. Still pretty odd to have games when students aren't even in town to go to them.

I'm very much looking forward to see how the Pokes do in conference play. In non-conference there weren't many surprises. They won all (or most) of the games we all feel they should have won, and all their losses were understandable. They weren't blown out in any of the losses, but didn't pick up that signature win, which will hopefully happen during conference play. I can't get too jazzed about the early season record, as we all know what happened after they started so hot in the non-conference a year ago. A win over Nevada and Boise would be a fine way to get things rolling in a tough conference.
