MWC Friday Games

Hawaii won the WAC in 2007, ran the table...and 7 years later people still remember the weak schedule and that Boise State was in a rebuilding year.

People don't forget

No CSU fan would make fun of Wyoming for winning a conference title when the league was down. Especially because they couldn't win it.

Personally, I think Hawai'i is only remembered for their weak schedule because they got their ass whooped by Georgia in the bowl game. If they had won or kept it close I don't think anyone would remember. I could give two shits how weak the conference is, we haven't won a championship whether it's been good or bad. We have about 5 more games to win before we can even begin to have this conversation.

This is such a weird year for MWC football.

I really hope Wyo can get some sort of offense, and keep healthy on defense.

The MW is so bad this season that a team with a good defense and 21 points per game could win the MWC.

I don't think the MWC is so bad this season. Obviously our conference record between each other will be .500 and we're not rolling over all our OOC opponents. We do have a OOC winning record and most of the MWC losses OOC are to some pretty powerful teams from the big conferences. Even with the not powerful teams we've played, the OOC opponents we've lost to are 70-33, and include Oregon, Michigan State, Arizona, Arizona State, Ole' Miss, USC, Utah, Nebraska, Auburn, Minnesota, Washington, Oregon State, and No. Illinois. These guys alone are 56-12, with many of the losses coming from one another. I'd say the MWC is having an average year, much like Wyoming so far, beating the teams it should/could and losing to the teams we pretty much expect them to. We also have a handful of wins vs. the big conferences sprinkled in and a victory over BYU. So far, I give the MWC a C+. Having said that, I do feel that no team within the conference looks as if they'll dominate the other teams in the MW, so the title is up for grabs.
