BSU's deal, all the money they get, goes straight to the conference to be distributed amongst conference members evenly. So while they get exposure, the rest of the conference gets more money. A win/win for both sides.

Not accurate.

It goes to the conference to distribute...however the "bonus" structure clearly heavily favors BSU as BSU is the only team that will be able to market all of its top games (CBS still gets top pick for the rest of the conference). I would have preferred to see a percentage bonus share and not a soild number. There is no guarantee that the deals BSU negotiates for specific home games even reach the bonus dollar amount (therefore causing a net loss to the other schools as we still have to satisfy the bonus regardless). However, it is likely that all schools will benefit a bit from the market of BSU's home games but nowhere near the level as BSU.

That said, given our market size and national brand at Wyoming, it is still a good deal for us (otherwise we were facing losing more teams to the BE and becoming more irrelevant).

I didn't see in any of the postings that BSU got to keep all their home games. I saw that the CBSSports still gets it's picks but then they get the rest of the games after CBS picks which no one else gets that. Someone show me something with solid proof that says BSU get's all of it's home games and CBS gets none.

I read the term sheet. Not sure where the link is to that now (I attached a USA Today opinion article). But basically Boise's home games are marketed separately from the MWC-CBS deal. The kicker is that the Boise AD has to approve the home game's TV deal. So lets say ESPN offers 1 million for a thursday night game and NBC offers 500,000 for a sat game, BSU might as well take the 500,000 because it will receive the same bonus either way. The MWC would make more on the ESPN deal, but BSU has little incentive to take the larger deal.

Here you go in black and white. There is no sugar coating it, BSU got a great deal. The MWC had little choice and I still support it.

Because it's a contract that not only encourages improved performances, but rewards it as well. For all schools. So yeah, a win/win.

I'd love to sugarcoat it, but it rewards BSU substantially more. If would be a level playing field if BSU were not able to market its games outside of the MWC-CBS contract. The rest of the teams are still handicapped in the national marketing of their games as we are subject to the MWC-CBS contract.

That said, Wyoming will make more money based upon BSU being in the conference. There will just be a gap in revenue distribution that will highly favor BSU over every other team for the foreseeable future (unless BSU football pulls a Southern Miss collapse).

Everyone is going to make more because of how BSU can market their games. Do they get more sure but not enough that it should matter, Did they deserve it? Probably we would have paid TCU the same if we could have kept them.

The way I understand it from what I have read is both the conference and Boise has to agree on the contracts. Could make for some interesting negotiations but Boise can't just screw the rest of the conference for a better payoff.
