Thoughts on this?
Band-aid move if AFA, BSU, UH, SMU, and UCF leave. sort-of positive move if they don't. Big a$$ conference either way.

I blame Missouri foir not wanting to move to the SEC and ESPN!!!!! :tickedoff: :tickedoff:

I think it's going to create Revenue which will entice current members to stay put. I think it will also create flexibility and stability in football scheduling in the future. I see this as a good move as it could indeed help keep current members current and the media footprint for this is huge.

But it does sound like they are renegotiating the TV deal at least.
Still might not be enough.

Can't we save this crap for the off-season? We have games to play tomorrow.

Can't help it. It was announced today. Who knows, may even keep AFA and BSU in the MWC.

Oh, my bad. I didn't mean you in particular, I meant all of this realignment crap. Can't these people save it for later? You know, when nothings going on from late April through July?

Yeah. Actually, I wish this realignment crap would end for 50 years or so. It's already ruining college football as is.

This is a colossal CF in every way. This makes no sense if BCS bid is not attached to it. But I do like the quote from the CUSA president, "We have 22, they have 6" when asked about the Big East.

Let's face it even with AQ status the odds of a MWC team being a nation champion is very very unlikely if even possible. SoS will always be held against us and will always keep MWC Schools out of the #1 spot.

This move is something they had already been working on, They have been working on it for well over a year. Now do you really think there isn't already a guaranteed revenue increase the media footprint for this arrangement is huge.

This was done for the benefit of school revenue my guess is the increased revenue will be enough that schools will think twice before just taking off. This is also an opportunity for CBS Sports to make a huge impact on college football.

What I believe is there is much more going on behind closed doors then we currently know or will for a while. But I really think Thompson knows that AQ status is not coming to the MWC I think he is being proactive and I for one applaud him for it.

Holy shit, this doesn't stop. Now AFA and Boise are staying in the MW:

Damn, I go away for the day and come back home, turn on the computer, and the whole college football world is blowing up like a nuke explosion.

You should have seen it live. MUCH more explosion-y.

Well, it's going to get worse next week. Especially, if at the last second, three things happen (but I aint holding my breath)......Missouri runs for the hills aka SEC and both AFA & Boise decline their BE Invites.

However.....I fully expect to see Mizzou to stay and AFA/Boise to accept their BE Invites.

Apparently UTEPs Ad has said today that the MW and CUSA will continue with this merger in all sports, not just football.

IMO this is a smart move and good thing to keep with the structure is there and there is nothing wrong with it.
