MW Championship Game: WYO vs SDSU

Wyokie is forever reminding us that he wants championships, not chicken shit. Well, here we are...a championship opportunity. The ride here wasn't completely smooth, but this is where we thought/hoped this veteran team would be. SDSU fans are already talking trash, some asshats on Twitter suggesting this game will be a piece of cake. Let them have it, this team believes and is a TOD. I hope everyone in Vegas has a great day tomorrow. Be loud and proud.

One. More. Game.

4 p.m. MT tomorrow on the big boy CBS. Cowboys vs. Aztecs.

I don't know if I've wanted a game this bad. For any team to win as much as I want the Pokes to get this championship. Really love this team and they are hitting it hard right now. Always figured it'd most likely be the Aztecs at the end. This one is gonna go down in rivalry history. Just find a way Pokes one more time!

This will certainly be a tough game, but there's something about the way the team is playing right now, it means SO much more to our guys. I think we take care of business! God this has been a fun ride! Go Pokes!

Pokes are a 6.5 point underdog this afternoon. Got to prove Vegas wrong too.
Weren't we dogs in the last 2 games as well? All the more reason for the Pokes to come out fired up. Prove they belong.

In the MWC tournament the #2 seed is 8-0 in championship games.

The #2 seed is 6-0 against the #1 seed and 2-0 against the #4 seed in championship games.

The #4 seed is 1-4 in the championship game.

The one time the #4 won it was in 2010 . Of all teams it was San Diego St. that was the #4 seed with a win over #3 seeded UNLV.

The 4 losses by the #4 seed were to the # 2 seed twice and once each to the #3 seed and the #6 seed.

We have a chance to make history today as being the first team in MWC tournament championship history to beat a #2 seed.

I think 8 wins in a row by the #2 seed is enough. I think it is time they lost one.

Lets go Pokes!!!!!!!!!!!

Spread, historical statistics...not forecasting a great day, but hey...the Pokes are here when everyone said they wouldn't be. Everyone said it was unlikely to get another huge day from Adams/Nance yesterday. Why not one more time?

Marks went cold yesterday. Everything rimming in and out. Sure would be nice if the Asstecs got the same bug.

Well Boise St. started out hot as heck yesterday . They were 7-11 from the 3 line at one point in the first half and then Shyatt went to the zone and everything changed.

Here is the two keys to today's game.

These two keys are all that matter. We do good with both of these stats and we will be the MWC champions.

Key # 1 ..... Do not turn the ball over. Keep the turnovers WAY down to like 8 or less. When you turn it over you lose an opportunity to score and give them and extra possession to score. In the first two games Wyoming had 13 turnovers in both games. SDSU had 10 turnovers the first game and then only 8 the second game. So they got 3 extra possession the first game and 5 the second game.

Key #2..... Defensive rebounding. If they put a shot up we need to get the rebound and only give them once chance each time down the floor. They aren't the best shooting team so if you only give them once chance then their chances of winning go down greatly. The first game they had 13 offensive rebounds and the 2nd game they had 8 offensive rebounds. That gave them a lot of chances to make a basket again just an extra opportunity for them to shoot it and score just like turnovers. We need to limit this to 5 or less. Crash the defensive boards hard. Easier said than done.

We win in these two area's and we will win this game and be the 2015 MWC Tournament Champions.

Is it 4 yet? God I am stressing out. Want this game SO bad. Any advice how to make it to 4 with finger nails remaining?

Take a 4 hour sleeping pill
Haha. This is going to be a long day

Yesterday I was nervous so I listened to Chris Ledoux for about two hours before the game. Helped me out quite a bit lol. Figured I would get my Wyoming Cowboy blood going and get ready for the game by listening to a Wyoming Cowboy.

You can try it not sure if it will help you or not. :D

Couldn't agree more. I was thinking those exact things this morning. We are going to lose the rebounding battle, but we can't afford to get destroyed. If the game came down to each team executing their respective half court offense I would like Wyoming's chances. Where SDSU destroys us typically is additional possessions off offensive rebounds and our turnovers. Those also lead to easier baskets. Prevent those scenarios and the Pokes can win this game.

Need to keep Aqell Quinn under control. Whenever SDSU scores more points than usual, it's because he is hot from outside. I'm hoping SDSU goes cold, there are some games they can't buy a basket. Come on basketball gods!
