They have no choice thanks to SJSU's sanctions....

Considering the craziness that has gone down in Logan and Reno the past few weeks (mass transfers).....the 9th, 10th, and 11th seeds are all locked up for the foreseeable future.

SJSU has been sanctioned now??? As an institution, they were the biggest embarrassment of the lot when we invited them in the first place. Now this!

I am beginning to think that, no matter how badly we want a California presence, the Mountain West needs to learn to "just say no" to any school that is part of the Cal-State system. If the name does not start with U.C. they do not get invited to join. As far as I am concerned, now that Petersen has left Boise State Junior College, the Cal-State schools can take Boise State with them. I will make an exception for SDSU because they have been with us since the 1970s, but the rest of the lot will drag down the image of the rest of the schools in the conference over time.

And to think, I came on here tonight to note that I might need to be less judgmental about some schools after seeing how far U.W. fell in the U.S. News and World Report academic rankings. SJSU's basketball team's performance on the court + sanctions = worse yet.
