Another random Morris Marshall thought, I have posted in the past comparing his statistical profile to that of Nate Sobey and Paco Cruz, but I forgot one other JC signee whose stats Marshall's bear a pretty good resemblence to: Thomas Manzano.
Manzano had a great year at Garden City CC before joining the Pokes. It didn't work out in Laramie because Schroyer is a moron and signed 6 players with the same skill set within two classes, but he tore up the D2 ranks and would have been an impact MWC player IMO. Comparing his stats to Marshall:
Manzano: 16.2 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 49% FG, 28% 3FG, 61%FT
Marshall: 16.8 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 42% FG, 35% 3FG, 66% FT
They are both scoring guards with similar size (both listed as 6'4" by UW). Marshall is a better perimeter shooter and Manzano was more effective going to the rim.
I don't really know the point of this, but it's the offseason and I am badly in need of a UW hoops fix. Can't believe the season is still 6 months away.
