Montana Grizzlies

Montana sounds like a formidable opponent to start off the season. Don't overlook the fact that it will be a home game for Wyoming, and I feel that home field advantage will be important. Also, don't forget that Bohl and his staff are very familiar with Montana and what they run as the Montana coaches are familiar with what Bohl runs, so my impression is that this is a wash...between the coaches I mean.

The area that I feel that Montana will have a decided advantage is at the QB position, and if it comes down to a close game that could be the difference. I am concerned that our lack of talent at the QB position will have affects of having the coaches call a conservative game and if there are turnovers by Wyoming from the QB position it could be a long day. To counter this I do feel that Wyoming will have a better defense than Montana's.

Don't underestimate D.J. May and Shaun Wick in producing a potent run game, and I do feel that Wyoming's ability to run the ball effectively will be a key. Wyoming will certainly be pumped for its opening home game under Bohl.

In the end, I feel that it will be a struggle early on, but Wyoming will wear Montana down and win a close game in the end due to our defense causing turnovers.

Jordan Johnson get those rape charges or whatever taken care of? This the kid from Spearfish, SD I believe. Used to play against my little brother.

Jordan was acquitted. He's from Oregon.

I stand corrected, thought the Jordan Johnson I knew went to Montana. Also knew a kid by the name of Matt Martin. Played PG back in 04-08 period. Played against WYO in a game I went to. WYO owned them I believe.

I think that WYO pulls out a tough game against Montana to the tune of around 31-17, with a late add on touchdown sealing it for the Pokes.

Here's a few vids that give a quick look at Montana's QB Jordan Johnson:

I'll be disappointed if the defense gives up 17 points, From everything we have heard all the changes taking place if the defense gives up 17 points it's no different than last seasons.

You can't be serious.

Looking at the two common opponents NDSU and Montana had last year

South Dakota (Joe Glenn's team)
Montana won 31-27
NDSU won 42-0

Coastal Carolina
Montana lost 42-35
NDSU won 48-14

I know the talent level is different between NDSU and Wyoming, but at least it gives somewhat of a baseline.

wyoming will crush montana 31-10 bohl and staff will want to make a statement! !

I most definitely am, All I have been hearing is about how all these defensive players are training harder and better than they were under CDC. Well I expect them to show it and if they don't I'll be disappointed.

That very well may be true....

But considering the feminazi attack two years ago, I'm just glad Montana is recovering quickly and should be more than ready to beat on the 2014 bare-ass cupboard they call the "biZon".

It still will be their first game with the new system. There might be an adjustment period needed at game speed.

As long as we win, I won't be disappointed.

Like the Bi-sons, the game could go either way... ;)

I've watched every Football and Basketball game in the Archive and watched every game last year worth watching so many times I might be able to recite them all by memory. We really need a sport to be played during this off season that is worth following.

Even on a professional level June to August is painfully boring.

No way montana keeps this close...If the spread is Wyoming -10 I'll be putting $500 on wyo to cover

I am not going to be quite that hasty with my expectations. I have a lot of confidence that Coach Bohl will get the Wyoming football program into contention at the top of the MWC, but he doesn't have all the pieces in place yet. However, I think we will see much improvement this year on defense and improvement in some areas on offense but I doubt we will be putting up big numbers on offense like we were able to do at times with Brett Smith.
