Money does buy playing time

What the hell is the reason for Joe Glenn keeping Crum as a starter? How much money, exactly, did Dax's dad donate to the Athletic Department/CJC to ensure his son would start? With the rotation of QB's all week in practice, it is no wonder we looked like a junior high football team. Once Sween got in a rythm, the offense looked decent. If I am not mistaken, under Sween's control, the offense scored all their points. Please correct me if I am wrong. WTF? I tell ya, Cole is not a QB coach at all and if Joe had any brains, Cole would be fired about 7PM tonight! AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH.

I can't see how Sween doesn't start at NM next week. He did throw 1 pic, but he looked much more confident, had the best completion rate, and was by far the most accurate of the 4 QB's.

The fact that Glenn said they would name a starter by Tuesday to me means they are going to make a change. I just don't see how we can't give Sween a shot. He has more D1 experience, looks the most like a D1 QB of what we have, and actually moved the offense down the field.

I certainly agree. However, Glenn is in a p*ss poor habit of not using logic or reasoning. I guess Tuesday we will find out. Sween should have been the guy all year. But, Glenn will with Sween, Sween will save the year and then Glenn will throw him back to the wolves next year.

I am not big into conspiracy theories, but starting Crum over Sween the last 4 games has puzzled me. Clearly he holds NO advantage over Sween, has piss poor mobility, and makes horrible decisions. Sween had a smile on his face on Saturday, he was happy to be out there, and I believe the offense clicked a bit better with him. Last years crap sucked, but not entirely his fault. I did like what I saw from him on Saturday though. He felt the pressure and left the pocket, didn't take the sack for -10, or fumble like Crum likely would have. When he rolled out of the pocket he set his feet before he threw, and aside from the one pick, he looked pretty good. I think he needs more practice time with the ones, needs to settle down a bit, put less zip on the ball, and keep the ball down. If he can fix all that, he will easily seperate himself from the others. He has toughness that the others lack, and most importantly experience. Hopefully this will be a carbon copy of two years ago when he got his first start at UNM, and almost won out in the last stretch of the season. Go Sween, Go Pokes!
