* Disclaimer * - I'm yet to watch or read anything in regards to the game except for statistics. Got home at midnight last night and have been moving ever since.
So hats off to you guys. I don't know if we fell asleep, or if you found a hell of a second wind or what, but right when it seemed we were going to blow it open the Cowboys said no. That was an inspired effort and though my score prediction had Nebraska winning big, there was kind of a feeling of, "this isn't surprising at all" in regards to the grit displayed. So just a couple of things, sorry if these have been rehashed like I said, I haven't read anything:
1. I did happen to glance and see a lot of definitive statements about Brett being superior to Taylor. I won't disagree with that or agree with it, just because I don't see the point or the legitimacy in comparing the two, but I would honestly ask what leads you all to that conclusion? He had larger numbers by a long shot, but he also threw the ball 20 more times while Taylor had the better qualitative stats. Like I said, not disagreeing, just wondering where that's coming from.
2. Speaking of the above, looks like it was a draw per the conditions of my individual bet with Mr. Peachy. However, I'll pony up the money regardless. I'd like to explain that I made that bet not because I wanted to prove Brett isn't a good quarterback, I most definitely think he is and he proved that last night, but more to show that Taylor is also a damn fine quarterback in his own right, and I will take comfort in being right about my prediction that he would have a better completion percentage and passer rating
Hopefully he won over some of the Wyoming contingent with his play.
3. Overall it was a great, albeit a bit weird, game. Wyoming fans seemed to really be enjoying themselves and seemed like enjoyable people in their own right from what I could tell. The pacing and flow of the game seemed atypical but maybe that's because I don't get to many in person. Hope those of you that made the trip were treated right (let me know) and I'll be rooting for the Cowboys the rest of the year.
