Miller #1, AA #2, Ghaali #3. Lots of shake-ups around the depth chart. Luke Anderson will start at FS, Meredith will back him up. Luke Anderson/Dominic Rufran #1 kickoff tandem. Zach Rushing starter at RG. Korey Jones will start at DE, Knapton at DT.

Hasn't it been reported that Knapton bulked up to the 280lbs range?

Not that I have seen. He certainly doesn't look 280 in any photos I have seen. He looks more about 255-260. Even if he was 280 that wouldn't make much difference for the defense as a whole. The defense is small and that is a concern of mine.

They were small last year too. I expect this to be a huge problem all year. Not a ton has changed since last year, and the changes that have been made aren't necessarily positive ones. I'm hoping for the best, but my gut has been telling me for months that Poke fans won't like what happens in 2011. The 2010 season was not an aberration. The glaring issues that doomed them last season are still there.

We are small. There's no way around that. Hopefully were not going to get pushed all over the field like last year.

Part of it is the shift to spread offenses. You see many teams running 4-2-5, 4-3-3, or nickle as their base. Having a lot of guys that can pass cover is necessary.

Still, our linebackers all weigh in at about 225 or lower. That's small for linebacker standards.

Our defensive ends are converted linebackers. A couple of them are 225. That's small.

The interior of our line is small as well. The loss of Mertens and Strong really hurt. I wouldn't mind seeing someone switch from the o-line, but it isn't going to happen this close to the start of season.

We're lucky we have two 1aas to get our suspensions taken care of and try and figure out how to stop the run with an undersized defense.

I hope English has some tricks up his sleeve. I don't want to see another season where we get blown off the ball by good football teams, and it looks like that's what is going to happen.

I'm not sure we've seen a roster with the current sizes of our players. Willis has said he's gained about 25lbs, but he is still listed at 225. Sonny looks to be bigger too, but his weight hasn't changed.

We might be a little small, but not severely small. And, what we lose in size, we make up for in speed. Look around the league, our DL is in the upper half size wise. And 225lb linebackers are fine at this level.

Go Pokes!!

Christensen said Miller, Alexander, Muhammad and Suttton will get equal carries. Downplayed fact Miller is starter.#gopokes

I wouldn't mind seeing Miller get a few live snaps. He really impressed me during the scrums. AA will deliver as well. I think Sutton and Ghalli will both top out at about 2-300 yards this year, if that. Expect Ghalli to get the bulk of carries when we are at the 5 yard line going in. He'll probably get quite a few td's that way.
Also, hendricks tops out at 228 and he ain't small at all. Besides, most LB's in ncaa range from 215 to 240. I'd say our size is fine. Plus, our D-line bulked up good as well.
