If you're reading this, or if anyone reading this personally knows you, I have to mention that you're the best damned thing to happen to UW sports coverage in decades. You and Ross are doing great things and I look forward to reading your tweets, articles and blog posts every day. I haven't been the biggest fan of the CST in the past but you're doing a helluva job converting me.

Outstanding job, my man. I'm proud that you're the Wyo beat writer and wherever you go in your career in the future, I wish you the very best. Wyoming fans are lucky to have you.

Gags is great too, but Vorel's work has been a great pleasure to read the last few months.

Thank you!

Agree. CST has been on my shitlist for like 10 years now and I too look froward to the coverage. Not to mention Gags has firmly distanced himself in 2nd place as of late.

I completely agree. I feel it's inevitable that Vorel leaves for greener pastures eventually, but until then, I'm loving the coverage he's providing. Hell, I wish my pro teams had anything close to that, rather than the drivel that writers like Adrian Dater comes up with.

I have gotten the pleasure of getting to know Mike a bit since he arrived...I've been reading about Wyo football pretty consistently since 2002 and in my opinion he's taken covering the program to levels unprecedented prior to his arrival onto the scene. He hit the scene like a tornado and hasn't stopped since he's been here.

Memo to the CST editorial board: Offer him the sports editor position today.

I have threatened Vorel & promised him bodily harm if he should even think about ever leaving the great Cowboy state :D

His story in today's CST on the POKES upset of Kansas back in 1964 was a reminder of what can sometimes be -- as well as an inspirational piece that provides me with a reason to be slightly optimistic about tomorrow's game.

Well done, MV.

Those Missouri grads tend to be some of the best. Mike has been top notch, no question about it. I hope he doesn't bolt to the big leagues of journalism too quickly.

Vorel has been great. Not just the best coverage of the Pokes that I can remember, but the best beat reporter in the MWC by a mile. I follow the coverage of most other MWC schools and Vorel is tops IMO. That is even more impressive when you consider what we have given him to work with (the UW beat has not exactly been brimming with conference titles, bowl games, or NCAA appearances).

I'm really impressed by his research. He's covered topics that only a die hard and old fart like me would be aware of.
