Kind of a back to earth after all the message board talk. Be sweet if Burman could pull off the Tedford thing and get the purse strings opened up though.

Looking at $1.5M w/ $750K guaranteed to get Tedford interested, another $900K in assistants budget to be competitive, and another $800K to get the recruits. All in all, looking at a $2M/ increase (this year) in the operational funds for football if we want to remain an FBS program in ten years.

With Sternberg gone do you think the foundation will pony up the dough? I know the legislature is stingy as hell.

Agreed. It's our rude awakening as to what it takes to compete in 2013. If we can't stomach that kind of buy-in, or need to rob Peter to pay Paul because we're cash strapped all the time, then we better get down to FCS. That said, we did have an unbudgeted $1M come in from ESPN this year, so maybe we're halfway there.

Which means we need to get someone nine miles up some stingy ass. Let's carve $300K plus out of the budget somewhere and get some serious f'k'in' lobbyists in there. Let's fax Mead's office out of paper with budget requests. Let's get a ballot initiative that changes the BOT to elected office.

What we need is a special Athletics endowment that generates a substantial amount of ROI to help fund some of these salary needs.

Mead did set aside $50M to raise pay for state employees in his newest budget. State employees include staff at the University.

Tedford would be awesome and my preferred hire. On another note Van Diest has stellar record albeit small school but he must be doing something right and has previously been on the Wyoming staff.

Who the hell is Spack?! Also are they serious about the Mont St coach and Carrol College coach, if that's truly the case then I really want to be considered myself!

Well send your resume to Burman then! Also, make sure to note that you have never given up 600+ yards of defense in a CFB game!

Spack was the defensive coordinator at Wyoming under Tiller and also at Purdue. He is now the head coach at Illinois St.

Where he has a .500 record, and just finished 5-6 or something like that. Yikes! Now THAT sounds like a Burman hire we all fear

The reason he is on the list is because Tiller is part of the committee to help with finding a new coach. Tiller owes Spack from when he left Purdue. So if we don't get Tedford.... guess who we might end up with? Hope not but I wouldn't be surprised if Burman hires him the way Burman does things.

Spack is seemingly very unimpressive, but in the back of my mind I'm thinking the ONE guy who can take Wyo to the next level will be someone we all least expect.

...and I do believe there is only ONE human being capable. Haha......but seriously.

Yeah I had that thought also. We might hire someone that none of us are impressed with and he will be the one that turns us into conference champions.
