This guy is reaching Miami status... plus got housed by an FCS team.
 
And he wasn't with his only two wins in two years or the fact that he hit one of his assistants, this man needs help and should not be coaching.

Maybe UNM can finally get an actual coach that can recruit. Long could coach but couldn't recruit for crap, while Locksley could recruit, but couldn't coach for shit (and that wasn't even the worst of his problems).

If UNM find the right coach, they're a sleeper going forward. The cupboard is NOT bare.

Which was about the only thing Locksley did right.
 
Well, at least we never lost to a FCS team. That is something that Koenning can claim, if nothing else, and maybe Bouknight too?
 
I hope for New Mexico's sake that they can make a good case that he was fired for cause. If they have to pay him the rest of his salary its just going to add insult to injury, as they say.
 
Say what you will about Vic, his program never had the off-field embarassments that plagued Locksley. That guy should have been gone in '09.

No, but we did lose to New Mexico, one of their two wins under Locksley. That's frankly more embarrassing.

That's the thing... Can UNM afford to go out and get a big name coach? Probably not. Leach would be perfect for them but they will probably have to go get a OC/DC or FCS coach.
