The Beaver defense figured their shit out since the fluke season opener.
OS would be ranked about 10th had their D showed up for 1 drive of that game.

It's even in Tempe this season, OS will put up at least 45 on them.

ASU has been a favorite - followed team, since the early 70's when they were in the same conference as Wyoming. Lot of behind the scenes history with UW & ASU. Love what Tempe & that area have become as well.

Hmmmm. Interesting candidate...he definitely has the experience & success coaching. Wonder why he wasn't (or hasn't) been a HC somewhere yet.

I am torn on having a coordinator (offense & defense) as a first time HC at Wyoming. Not a lot of success going that way, at least here.

Do you like playing Air Force, CSU, New Mexico etc. every year like we have been for the past 50+ years? Drop to FCS and that no longer happens unless we play a body bag game against them. It's not like we never beat those teams or even rarely beat them. Drop to FCS and it will become a rarity that we even play them let alone win. Did you like losing to Cal Poly last year? That was our first loss to an FCS/D1AA team. Drop to FCS and it will become a yearly occurance. Who won the FCS title last year? Who went deep in the playoffs? I haven't got a clue, neither do most on this board, but we all know who won the BCS championship.

If we dropped to FCS I would lose interest, I would stop going to games, I would stop giving to CJC and I know I'm not the only one. You've mentioned Montana and North Dakota St., but take a look at what's happening at Grambling State. That is what happens when fans lose interest. That is Wyoming's future in FCS.
 
Drop to FCS and Wyoming would struggle mightily to get players (maybe with exception of Wyoming high school grads). Even North Dakota State in Fargo is considered less remote than Laramie. I would rather see the Pokes get beat regularly by the Nebraskas than by the Montana States.
 
I doubt we even get Mont and NDSU, just UNCO, Idaho St., Col school of Mines, Fort Hays St. And Portland St. Oh yeah! I totally busting out a 1500 miles round trip for one of those great games in front of 10,000 fans!

Yes, because Wyoming is poised to win a BCS Championship soon.

I would argue fan interest would grow as the team started to actually win games. How much more apathetic can our fan base get? You really think anybody is going to travel six hours to Laramie to watch them after that abortion last weekend?

You're not really comprehending this are you? He's saying we would be lucky to get players period. Right now, we do get players, some are good, some need work, others are busts. As it is with every school. Drop down to FCS, then most the kids we offer probably chose to stay closer to home if they have to play FCS. Short of Wyoming students and maybe the occasional out of stater, why would any recruit want to come here at FCS? You think we struggle now? Jeez.

How much worse could it get? Were you here for the Koennig years? We struggled to get the then D1-A minimum 15,000 attendance. Lots of avid fans here lived through that nightmare. Those same fans are telling you dropping to FCS would be a bigger nightmare and they would stop supporting. I would guess we would struggle to maintain a 10,000 attendance average.

And yes, I will be there for the Fresno game. I saw what they did to Air Force. If they come like that against Fresno, they can win.

I would not go if they dropped to FCS. If they gave up on FBS then I would give up on them.
