So he's still going to be a junior even though he missed the full season for health reasons? I guess he probably wants to move on with his life too, though.

It is my understanding that Mertens will apply for a medical red shirt but those are not guaranteed. I think he will get the medical redshirt though as this was a freak illness that he couldn't avoid.
