Meeting the new staff!!

Just got back from Jackson's from meeting the new coaching staff. I am extremely ready for COWBOY FOOTBALL!!!!! I thought all coaches were class acts and enjoyed hearing from DC. I really believe that we are going to be on to bigger and better things for Wyoming Football. It might not be this year, but for sure in the coming years, watch out. Bring on Spring Ball. GO POKES

Sounds cool. Did they reveal any plans or anything? Announce their grad assistants? Stadium construction?

Coach DC did mention who his GA's were but they were not there. There were also some other coaches that were not there since they are so heavily recruiting right now. I didn't hear them mention anything about the stadium reconstruction but they did have the new pamphlets there to show everyone what they are going to look like. I think the best thing that I heard was that people are going to be shocked at their recruits that they have brought in and the ones that they are bringing in this weekend. They are also going to have a meet the recruits on Feb. 17th at Jackson's. It is something that they use to do in Missouri. It also sounded great. They will have videos going of the recruits that they brought in.

Yep, the days of smash mouth, run it down their throat football at UW are over (at least under this staff). I got to meet them in Laramie on Wednesday and I was just as impressed as wyocowboy was. Our offense is not going to look anything like it has in the past. Christensen just bought a house this week and is getting moved in. I don't know how he and his family have been able to handle all the stress of the last two months and still manage to put together a staff and recruit players too. He didn't give out recruits names, but I get the feeling we are going to be surprised with the quality of these recruits. He told me it isn't very difficult to recruit to UW when you could take the facilities at Missouri (Big 12) and put them all inside our IPF (what he is saying is we have much better facilities). If English can keep the defense at the level it has been and strengthen the secondary, I think we will have a balanced team. I'm looking forward to the football season.

Montana does a "meet the recruits" kind of thing after signing day.. big gathering at one of the nicer places in town, open to the public, they can come down and listen to the coaches talk about the recruits, they play video of the recruits, cool stuff. Glad to see DC is jumping head first into this and getting the community involved. Hopefully he can continue some of the PR stuff Glenn and his staff did.
