Measuring Stick Game!

Idaho's QB isn't half bad.. the rest of their team is awful. Fresno better not take another half off or they'll be in trouble.

Games that are likely to be blowouts can't really be measuring stick games. Some teams let off the gas in the second half, while other teams don't. Scores can vary wildly when one team is much better than the other.

I think he's referring to Fresno's 1st team defense. The Bulldogs have won by out-shooting their opponents, not by out-playing them.

Yep. Even barely held on against Hawaii.

44-0. Second quarter.

On the measuring stick, I believe this amounts to a complete and total ass kicking.

That's about the same as against Hawaii last week. Then Fresno put in their 2nd and 3rd stringers and nearly blew the game.

I finished calculating my measurements....Fresno & Boise are better than we give them credit for.

Also, USU is an entirely different team without Chuckie Keeton.

I think Fresno is the best overall team. Doesn't mean unbeatable. Let's just say I wouldn't bet my first born son that we beat them in Laramie.

If Fresno's a joke, what are we?

A team that doesn't have to throw the ball 73 times to win a game?
A team that can run the ball?
A team with a LITTLE bit of defense?
All that.
Fresno is not what they are made out to be.
Extremely overrated.

A team that has to throw the ball 73 times to win that is undefeated is still a team that is undefeated as opposed to a team that has lost two games, one of them being to Texas freaking St.

I hope the POKES prove me wrong in the next couple weeks and you right. I really do. But unless you are looking through some very thick brown and gold glasses, it's tough to make the case right now that Wyoming is actually a better team than Fresno, which is what I think you are trying to do.

I truly believe that the Texas State game was an absolute fluke.
Fresno barely gets by Hawaii and people talk about how they are world beaters. Are you serious?
They have absolutely no run game. Or defense. Against mediocre offenses anyways.

Fresno may have the better record but hard to say Fresno has the better, more complete team than Wyoming. At least when both teams are playing at their best level.

Good teams don't have "fluke" games against d-league, 2 year-old programs. It's elementary, my dear Beaver...

They had 4 straight turnovers in the third and fourth quarter when they tried some stupid things after they thought the game was put away. That's not exactly their standard game... and "barely" getting by Hawaii is hell of a lot better than getting spanked by Texas State who got embarrassed by Louisiana-Lafayette this last weekend.

As for no run game - they average 164 yards rushing per game. We're at 193... sure, we're better running the ball, but 30 yards per game isn't the difference between a great rushing attack and a non-existent one.

Until we prove otherwise, they're a better team than us. And I'm glad they are, as we seemingly play up or down to competition, Air Force being the only exception thus far.

Our measuring stick is we have to throttle New Mexico!!!

Agreed. I want the pokes to put up 42 at least. And think they will. They have to be hungry for an ass kicking after the one they just got.
