The Pokes took care of business against a D2 school (take notes, football). Naz looked very comfortable at the point, but I did notice that Bennett took the ball down the floor about half the time. I was surprised to see Rojas starting off on the bench, but after seeing Parker Gerrits play I get it. Parker is probably going to be the most impactful transfer this season. I also really liked Mike Mora's play. He got a little cocky after his dunk, but overall he looked pretty good on defense and very capable on offense.
Gavin Gores is going to be a problem in the MW this season, but he MUST get his fouling under control. He only ended up with 2 last night, but they were really stupid fouls. Renars Sondors got the start, but he didn't really appear to be doing much on the floor. I would argue that Ruf is much more impactful, but Ruf did have some lapses on defense.
All-in-all this was a good first look at the team when it counts, and they did what they were supposed to do. They've got one more tune-up game against Idaho State on Friday.
