One day the marketing department will do things to bring out fans. This is great work from New Mexico.

I mean it did mention you had to purchase at least one ticket to get the type of family plan. Let's look beyond football here for a moment. I don't think even free tickets would get fans to see MBB. Wyoming must generate fans and wins in the revenue sports of MBB and Football.Giving things away for free doesn't make us any money. And, we shouldn't look to New Mexico for advice on how to run a program.
Which is a shame. UW needs to reimplement $5 tickets for 12 and under. THAT is how you build a youthful fanbase. If UW athletics wants to die along with the Boomers and Richie Riches, they are all set.The video was very well done too. UW's focus is on the Wildcatter Suites and season ticket holders for the new seats. They could give a rat's ass about kids 12 and under and whether they have any interest in Cowboy football.
How many of us have brought up our experiences as kids in the Knothole section and playing football behind the old lite brite scoreboard? It fostered being a fan. It set us apart.Which is a shame. Meh. Damn near every kid under 12 I've seen at UW football or basketball games is playing video games on their phone. Allowing kids in for next to nothing may be great for parents who don't want to pay for babysitters, but it's terrible business. Winning will build a fanbase, not giving away your product.Which is a shame. UW needs to reimplement $5 tickets for 12 and under. THAT is how you build a youthful fanbase. I went to the Wyoming v. NM game last year. The stands were basically empty. Wyoming used to have cut-rate seating in the end zones (the Knothole?) . Any way they can get butts in the seats would be great. Most parents cannot afford to bring their kids at the current prices.New Mexico Football (X Link)

That’s probably the reason I’m a fan. My dad wasn’t shelling out any more than that for us to go to a game. We sat knotholeWhich is a shame. UW needs to reimplement $5 tickets for 12 and under. Although I agree, UW sucks ass at winning. Winning does cure all, but given the current and past administration and coaching, winning, and winning consistently is light years away from happening, and simply not going to happen without some MAJOR changes, starting at the very top.Meh. Dome of Doom...what's that??? LolI mean it did mention you had to purchase at least one ticket to get the type of family plan. Let's look beyond football here for a moment. Football does well with fans in general, however, MBB might draw less fans than midget WWE at my VFW in rural Virginia. If a parent buys a ticket why not allow them to bring a kid under 12 for free? You generate some revenue via sales BUT you generate a fanbase.
Pretty soon there won't be a young fanbase for Wyoming if they don't start winning AND they don't get to see a fun product on the field or court.
Wyoming marketing has done a great job at making the Dome of Doom a cemetery on a cold Feb night. Best crowds are education day for the WBB team.
More like the Dome of Dud.Dome of Doom...what's that??? Lol
Gloom and Doom is what I feel after every MBB game I have attended the past two years.Dome of Doom...what's that??? Lol
Did you end up attending UW? I'd make the case that alumni make better long term fans than those that attended games as youth. That’s probably the reason I’m a fan. My dad wasn’t shelling out any more than that for us to go to a game. We sat knothole
Same for me. I've got a lot of good memories of sitting in the knothole beind the north end zone. To flyfishwyo's point, I did end up attending UW as well. I had LOTS of options on where to go to college, but my lifelong connection to UW definitely factored into my decision to go to school in Laramie. That’s probably the reason I’m a fan. I remember being so angry at UW when it got moved to the South end and eventually go rid of it all together. I would have attended UW based on my connection to the athletics department but I was more interested in drugs and partying.Same for me. Yeah I am a UW alumnusDid you end up attending UW? I'd make the case that alumni make better long term fans than those that attended games as youth.
That's a chicken or the egg question. I suggest that those who did both are the most devoted fans.Did you end up attending UW? I'd make the case that alumni make better long term fans than those that attended games as youth.
