Luke Del Rio?

Alabama QB is transferring. Sounds like Oregon State bound but his Dad is with the Broncos. He could drive up the road and watch his son play at all home games.

I don't know a lot about him, but Oregon State did offer him out of high school; he chose to walk on at Bama.

Anyone know anything about him; would he be worth a look; would we have a chance of landing him if he is?

I believe that Jack Del Rio stands a good chance of landing a HC position somewhere other than Denver and being close to Denver may or may not be a conisderation.

However, as a former walk-on, I believe that Luke can transfer anywhere and not be forced to sit out a year.

Yeah, I started reading a little more about him. Had offers from Okie Lite and Oregon State. Good sized pro-style QB. Turned down CSU offer.

Appears to be no chance. Too bad; if Oredigger is correct, it would be a fantastic grab if he could play next season.

Since he had no interest in CSU, I doubt he will have any interest in WYO. Maybe immediate starting would be enticing :D I know. I know. One can hope.

My understanding has been it comes down to whether the athlete is considered a "recruited athlete" under NCAA rules and guidelines. My understanding is that typically walk-ons are not considered recruited athletes to their specific university and may transfer free of penalty. However, I am sure there are caveats.

Minnesota Gopher QB Philip Nelson is leaving Minnesota. Craig Bohl & jerry KILL are good buds, maybe Wyoming ?
Nelson is not much of a passer. Good power runner for a QB, but, unless improved drastically, he's not much of a pro style QB.

I watched a decent amount of Gopher football(fiance is from MN and her sister is a diver for UM). Nelson is the better passer on the team. Are you thinking about Mitch Leidner? He was a massive dude that only ran. Nelson would do both(no one throws alot in that offense) Not saying he is a good passer. I don't know. But he was the better passer of the two qb's they played.

Watched the their game against SJSU and the Bugeaters. Could be mistaken, but they didn't do much passing. Granted, it wasn't really needed against either team, since they literally ran over defenders, but still.

My fiance' is a gopher alum so I watched quite a few games. Honestly he's a better passer than people give him credit for and he would definitely bring the read option threat back. He is a big, tough dude. I would be happy if he landed here.

Well, another QB couldn't hurt.

I was behind him at El Pollo Loco in Tempe. I was not impressed with his order.

West Mankato, MN kid.

He doesn't know shit about Mexican food. Gotta cut him some slack and invite him to visit this region.
