Loyola Maramount game thread

Loyola Marymount always brings back the memory of the 1988 NCAA tournament when they beat Fennis Dembo and Wyoming in a super high scoring game. I think the final score was something like 120-115 and that was in regulation without any OT’s. I think Fennis Dembo fouled out if I remember correctly.

That team will go down in Poke lore as an all time great story.

On one hand that was a disappointing loss after being up by 10. On the other hand it is impressive that they got up by 10 after being down by 16. This tournament was a good learning experience for them and hopefully translates into a respectable season. Pretty good for a team thrown together at the last minute. Fix Free throws and dumb turnovers and we might have something.

We are not good at breaking defensive pressure. We really only have one true ball handler (Wills). Agbim is a decent ball handler but not great. That came back to bite us in this game.

I was at that game. We went from up 10 to down by 8 at the end of the first half. The players were gassed, and we left two timeouts on the board, if I recall correctly. Benny Dees kind of messed that part up.
