Loudest Moment in War Memorial Stadium?

Hey Cowboys fans! I've been lurking over here for quite awhile in anticipation of the Wyoming-Nebraska matchup in September, but this board needs something to spice it up.

How's this: What was the loudest moment ever in War Memorial Stadium? Who was the opponent, what was the reason for it being so loud, etc.

Let the debate begin!

This is certainly one of them, if not the.

Wow! I had remembered that you guys had played Texas close in the first half but had forgotten that you were leading them so close to halftime. Pretty cool stuff. Too bad it wasn't a closer game in the second half.

We gave Dolt McCoy a couple minutes at the end of the first half, or we would have taken a lead into the locker room that day.

And the first series for Texas in the 3rd set the tone for our very typical pissing-down-leg scheme we like to run against ranked competition and bWHYu.

The only difference being we didn't piss ourselves until the end of the 1st half whereas against BYU, we piss ourselves the whole game. Last time they were in Laramie was the first game I had been to in years and was very disappointed in that one!

I wasn't at the Texas game (don't go there, I'm still not happy about it), so I don't know how loud it was in comparison.

But I remember playing BYU at home in 1999. They were ranked, but I don't remember how high (12 or 13, I think), and the stadium was pretty full - might have even been a sellout. We kicked the crap out of the Zoobs that day 31-17, and the stadium was LOUD during the entire game, especially in the fourth quarter. Goal posts may have even ended up in the Buck - not really sure since I was in the band. It was a helluva game and I remember thinking that this was how Cowboy football should be.

Good times - looking forward to more of those soon.

GO POKES!

I wasn't at the game, but I swear I thought I heard the crowd from my house (I live by the Ivinson Mansion) while watching on it TV. :thumb:

I have two.
97 CSU game: 34,745 (Largest crowd ever!) And got very loud when we scored our only td that day. The stadium was shaking badly all game long. It was freaky! Lost 14-7
07? Virginia game:When Devin Moore busted out for the 85 yard td run!. That was crazy loud! Won 23-3
