we know the ultimate contribution of their replacements.
At first glance it would seem that losing your two best players who both had a few years left in the program, would be excruciatingly painful. That is until they are measured against the two new recruits who will likely replace them.
Marshall and Nance should be those two and of course the verdict is still out on how long it takes for their contributions to be realized . It might be very possible however that neither Marshall or Nance would have been Cowboys if Jackson and M'baye had remained based on the immediate requirements that Shyatt was looking for.
So, only time will tell if those two produce to the level of the two that exited, but I have a hunch they could both be better. Why is that? Aside from the physical attributes that each player possess, they will simply be exposed to four vs. two years of real, honest to goodness coaching.
Of course we'll never know for sure but it's one way I can resign myself to the idea that their departure will soon be very forgettable.
