Looking like we're getting the 7th seed

Pokes really need to lock up this 7th seed by beating SJSU for the finale. Currently that would put them on the greenie warpath of taking down AF and then looking at a Nevada or CSU 2nd round. I'm pulling for Nevada to win the league. I think UW can beat CSU for sure. They almost got em in their house playing fairly sloppy and missing FT's while being beat damn near last second. It feels like there could be a legit MWC tourney run in this team. They could crash out but if you tell me the Pokes get AF and CSU for the first 2 games in the MWC tourney I'd take that everyday of the week. The 3rd game kinda scares me though and it's hard to fathom winning the championship on the 4th game in 4 days but they have depth??
 
I think we can absolutely make a run in the tourney, but need to start James and play him at least 35 mins. If we run 7-8 we can play with anyone in the league, with maybe the exception of Nevada.

I'm kinda happy we've run extra dudes this season in a tourney run scenario. Playing that many games in that short of stretch its gonna be all hands on deck. We'll need a few different unsung guys to step up for sure, in some fashion. AF lets us play Naughton/Moemeka heavier too!
 
Thinking more about our draw I think we have a really good shot at going deep in this tourney. If we can pull the 7 seed we play Air Force. Barring a meltdown, this is the one team we match up with extremely well. They can't come close to matching our size. We then move on to CSU. I think that we saw that Liebs can lock down on Nixon, James on Clavell. Omagbo is tough and he will get his, but they are definitely beatable. If we can contain Hutch and Austin we can beat Boise and meet Nevada in the Finals. I'm dreaming, but if we tighten our bench up, show the Mountain West the player of the year next year in James and get someone else hot, we can do this shit!!!

I like the board dreamers! I still think we're gonna need our bench to do it, it seems like one of our advantages almost in a tourney setup like this. I love the AF match up too! One of my favorite teams to beat and to do it 3 times in a year would be special :mrgreen: I don't know if Nevada is coming out of that other side. That side scares me more with UNLV, SDSU, UN, and FSU in it. That's like all the athletic and D u up units (well maybe on UNLV for D up). Is New Mexico gonna land on our side of the bracket? They're a little bit of a wild card team. Boise St day 3 is gonna be tough...just no way around it. Hope they get upset :thumb:

My secret hope is for a title game rematch with SDSU :winky:

It'll feel damn good if we can send AF and CSU packing out of this thing, of course losing to them will sting but pretty much a nothing to lose scenario here for the Cowboys. SDSU and Boise St lurking on that other side with a slim UNLV chance perhaps? Still hoping for an SDSU rematch as I'd prefer to play the other team on their 3rd game. No way around Fresno St or Nevada being a tough out for the championship.
