Looking at the teams coming into MWC next year

Both Utah State and San Jose State are coming off great seasons and it's hard to believe that they could be having such great seasons and have such AWFUL attendance numbers. San Jose State played against Utah State when SJSU was 4-1 with a narrow loss to stanford and Utah State was 4-2 and both teams competing for a conference title. This was the largest attendance of the year and was only 15,168 in San Jose CA. Utah State is comparable to us in the 20,000's for attendance some games. I just find it hard to believe a team can be doing as well as these two teams have this season and they aren't packing their stadiums.

I can see low attendance in years that you aren't very good but when you are competing for conference championships you would think their average attendance would be 20k.

SJSU is in a situation comparable to a team like Rice. Just too much disparity in the area with pro teams and other college teams (often times that are much better) in the immediate area. Bay Area has Stanford, Cal, 49ners, Raiders, Giants, etc... If SJSU can win more cosntantly, than attendance should go up.

I finished college at Utah State. Few things I saw

-Seating sucks. Cement seating for all general admittance. Crap.
-The student turnout is very very strong.
-It is cold in Logan in November
-There is the whole "little brother" perception in this area. Utah and BYU still look down upon Usu. You have more cougar fan douchebags and Utah flamers. Also, you have four viable colleges in a 90 mile area.
-Gary Andersen is long gone if he has another year like this
-Javon Bouknight still rocked his UW hoodies and shorts around campus

i'm glad USU's coming in, had a decent time at the game last year, except that shellacking in the 2nd half...
As for SJSU? not really sure what to think about them, yet, nice road trip to the bay area...lol

It's really pretty amazing the difference between BYU, Utah and then USU fans. You would assume they weren't really from Utah.

Don't get me wrong, USU fans can be A Holes, but they don't hold a candle to Utah's load of bandwagon fans and BYU's entitled fans. I will give Utah and BYU credit for having good football programs, but I can't stand the narrow-minded, entitled, condescending, pontificating buttloads that are Utah and BYU fans. Now that I live down here, it is hard to decide which fans are worse. Utah fans truly feel their shi don't stink. The Utah fans aren't so much "fans" as people who hate BYU. Byu fans, on the other hand, are just dorks. I can't take them serious very often. Some of the complete BS that I hear in Provo makes me want to jump in front of a minivan.

Formerly from Utah, and it's crazy the media coverage between the major 2 and the little guy up in Logan. Been to all 3 stadiums and I will never go back to BYU ever again, thank goodness. Then the Muss up at Utah, they were riding high then they had a wake up going to to the Pac 12, good riddance to both. and glad that USU is coming to the MWC(i say that now, wait a few years huh...lol)

Maybe a dumb question but why is Bouknight at Utah State?

What he has done since he has been there is flat out amazing.

During the 2011 season, Bouknight's receiver corps helped Utah State establish school records for total offense (5,945 yards), rushing yards (3,675), total points (437) and total touchdowns (60). In 2011, USU's offense was statistically one of the best in the country as it led the WAC and ranked sixth in the nation in rushing offense (282.69 ypg). USU also ranked first in the WAC and 18th in the nation in passing efficiency (151.8), first in the WAC and 23rd in the nation in scoring offense (33.62 ppg), and second in the WAC and 20th in the nation in total offense (457.31 ypg).

I wish he would have stayed at Laramie after his first year as a offensive graduate assistant but I'm glad some school somewhere is learning from what I consider one of the best receivers I've ever seen in person.
