Looking ahead: are there 2 wins?

@ suds : Probably toughest remaining team.
@ fresneck: not sure about these guys. That loss to csu was bad. Middling MWC team.
vs Nevada: A lot of losses but not one to overlook. That D can play pretty good at times and I think will be a challenge for our O.
@ HI: Their offense is rolling the past 3 games but against 3 pretty bad defenses. Still, going to the Island is never easy.

Strange year for the POKES. 3 more wins wouldn't surprise me but neither would 0. suds is probably a long-shot but the rest should be pretty close to a pick 'em. The closest to a strong chance for a win is Nevada, but I think their defense is strong enough to limit the POKES' O but do they pack it in now that bowl eligibility is off the table? Hopefully csu game provides a spark. I'll go 2-2 to end the season with wins of fresneck and Nevada.

I agree with you. We could beat Fresno and Hawaii, and we should beat Nevada. Getting to a bowl this year would make it successful season imo. Next year, I expect UW to be at the top of the MWC

Im guessing we go 3-1. It turns out not changing your receivers out after every play is a good thing. Bouknight called a great game. The rhythm of the offense felt perfect and the plays with sims gave a good mix up. CSU sucks. They me be the 2nd worst team in the league, but there is noway we score 28 pts with Johnson calling the plays. Good job by sawvel for pulling the plug, even tho it may have already cost us a couple of games. Very Happy we kicked their ass the last time we play as conference members.

Hawaii is going to be super tough on the road. I don't think we play well there, likely an L.

Nevada and maaaaaybe Fresno for W's.

Wish we could get that Air Force game back.
This is my thinking. I see our only Ws with Nevada and less likely, Fresno. I don’t think we win against Hawaii.

4-0 will be tough, but not impossible. A win at San Diego would set us up pretty well. We shall see. All I know is I’m looking forward to the last part of the season. A bowl game would be great!

I think Nevada looks like a W. They've got an above average defense, which could give us fits, but that day is going to be a wild one. Fresno is probably the only other potential W, they seem a little all over the place though and it depends on which team shows up. Pokes history in Fresno isn't great. Spaztecs are salty on defense, could be a 6-3 kinda game. Hawaii is always a challenge, long trip and they're in the hunt for a title this year doesn't make me feel optimistic about that one.

The team I saw play Colorado State will find a way to get 2 wins or more (on the road at SDSU and Hawaii as others pointed out being tough games). Just a great performance all around against CSU. The coaching I saw against AFA/CU not so much. I’m really hoping the first impression of Jovon running the offense will continue!!

THis is where I'm at....with the caveat that there is a nagging voice in my head that says CSU is such a dumpster fire that the victory can't be extrapolated from.

@ SDSU 40%. We have to play exceptional defense and find a way to get 21+ points to win.

@ Fresno 55%. The bull puppies are ripe for the taking and we cannot waste any opportunities like we did at AFA. Play as solid as we did against the sheep and we could get this game on the road in a tight contest.

Nevada 90%. Last home game. Josh Allen day. I really want to say 100% a win, but Sawful and staff just don’t have a complete vote of confidence from me.

@ Hawaii 25%. Just don’t feel as good about this game as any of the other remaining games. I fear a who scores first, fast and frequently type game where the first team to 40 wins. It’s been hard to think of 40+ points from a Wyoming team since DC was here.

The UNLV and @ AFA games are the ones that hurt the most.

Even at 6-6 (4-4) we might be out of contention for a bowl spot unless there is a shortage of 6 win teams as we already have 4 eligible teams and UNM likely to be the 5th with only 5 guaranteed MWC bowls. Those 5 teams are probably going to win 7+ games which by MWC rules makes them automatic first choices. That’s why I keep clamoring for winning conference games. Those are the difference makers.

I think we get at least 2 and I’m basing that on JB being the OC and having total control of the offense. This is his time and I think he’ll make the best of it. A bowl game, even at 6-6, would be nice after the train wreck of last season…..

I think we win against Nevada at home, but that's it.

Great win against CSU. The players and coaches deserve nothing but credit for that performance. They were clearly well prepared and the players came ready to execute.

That being said, I don't think this win translates to the rest of the season. It was a rivalry game against a team that is leaving the conference to head to "greener pastures" next year and they had The Boot. There were a lot of reasons for our team to be motivated for that game.

Can we carry that level of intensity and preparation forward? Unfortunately, I don't think so. As much love as Bouknight is getting as OC, and deservedly so, our offense looked eerily unproductive for most of the second half. I still think there are a lot of unanswered questions about this team moving forward.

But the ass kicking of CSU was great.

If we get to 6 wins, there will be a bowl game somewhere for us. We may never had heard of it before... But we'll have something.
