I can't believe you guys think this game is going to be this close!
34-10..its homecoming and we smashed a Utah team that was supposed to beat us.
J-Rod, nobody is getting caught off guard for homecoming..this team will be ready for a good RB (whats new..)

I don't know, looks like the boys have been caught off guard to me. 20-3 NM in the 4th

I know, 7-0 baby!!! 8-)

I meant no disrespect, just pointing out that I was right.

I was being sarcastic...I can't believe you guys almost lost to San Jose St.
BCS? no
well, it looks dumb because you didn't even respond to what I said until after the game. You had all week, but whatever.

Does it really matter? Only thing that matters is how UW rebounds from this. The next few games are going to be very tough. The MWC title is still in reach though, TCU is looking to lose to Stanford, UNLV has played well with everyone they have played(except my Warriors) so they can beat BYU. Wyoming just needs to change the offensive game plan and they will be fine. Everything is still within reach.

As for my Warriors and the BCS, this is EXACTLY what happened to Boise last year, except it took a last second play for them to beat SJSU. The Warriors have a great destiny this year and they are proving it, great teams find ways to win no matter what.

As CoachKen said

I was not surprised how this game progressed. Before the season started, this was the game that worried me the most for one reason...Dick Tomey. He knows how to scheme and he knows how to get the most out of players, especially in front of the home crowd.

Biggest factor all night? The weather. UH football depends on timing, which depend on "speed cuts." Normally in an offense WR's cut differently than Hawaii. The speed cut is a continous, fast, round motion rather than the traditional plant the foot and cut. On a wet, soft field, your timing disappears. Also the rain is not the worst factor, it is the slim (mud and moisture), that makes it difficult to catch the ball. Our speed was also limited by the soft field, almost like running through sand. A soft field always favors the defense with one exception, a defensive back who has to stop his backpaddle and cut forward. If he does not take short steps he will fall and this happened several times. The pattern of choice on a wet field is the comeback.

Their defense had a perfect game plan for a wet field. That being said, if it were a dry field I honestly don't think the game would have been in doubt. Easily add two to three touchdowns to the Warriors side without much addition to the Spartan side.

Disappointed in the kicking game. If we give up kicking game touchdowns to Boise or lose the kicking game it will be a long night. Even though Dan missed the field goal, there was a bright spot. The ball could have made it from 60 yards! I think we have to trust Daniel more on 4th and short from 35 to 45 yards. Three points are three points and there is no overtime.

Biggest play of the game? Having the guts to go back to CJ Hawthorne two plays in a row for the touchdown. Thank you June!

More later, but congrats to a team that finds a way to win, that believes!

For those wondering who CoachKen is in the last post J-Rod made.

He is a former assistant coach for Nease High School in northeast Florida in St. Augustine. His son now plays for Hawaii. He has a mind for football.

In fact, he might have played against Wyoming in the late 1970s. He attended the University of Richmond at that time. Wyoming played Richmond twice, both times in Laramie.

1979- Wyoming 9, Richmond 7.
1980- Wyoming 35, Richmond 14.
