Let's treat SDSU as our Bowl Game and go out winners!

This season hasn't gone as planned, but it was painfully close to being a decent season. I still feel if Brett doesn't get the concussion vs Toledo we are already bowl eligible AND even more importantly so some of the fans, we stay competitive in ALL our games. My opinion could be argued, but I believe what I believe. We can't change the past, but reflecting on the season still gives me optimism for the future. I really think we are a concussion away from a possible 8-3 record right now, and we would have played Fresno St and Boise St much better if we hadn't already had such a downer of a season by the time those games rolled around.

For UW to be a consistent winner, we only need to be a top 60 team. (no the goal is not mediocrity, but we do need to pass through mediocrity to get to good, real good, dominant, etc.) For years teams like Utah, BYU, TCU, Boise St, have been consistent winners with recruiting classes ranked around the top 60. This year according to the Sagarin ratings we have been real close to a top 60 team. Our opponents Sagarin ratings....

13 Texas respectful showing on the road, chance to make it a nail-biter late.
41 Fresno St stinker after the heartbreaking losses
43 Boise St another stinker after the heartbreakers

61 Toledo A game we may have won (about 50-50 chance in my book) if Brett finishes the game.
78 Nevada A game we would have won (about 90-10 chance in my book) if Brett finishes.
92 Cal-Poly A game we should have won regardless (99-1 chance), if Brett plays.
104 AFA Another 99-1 chance if Brett plays, even though I thought Thompson played great.

Wyoming currently ranked #107. SDSU ranked #52. Come on Pokes we are usually good for a least one upset per year, and this is our last chance. We certainly have had our share of bad luck this season. I would love to send SDSU off with a loss, but even more important, it would be great to end the season on a good note and build momentum for the off season and next year. Can't wait for all those red-shirts to get in some spring ball and show their stuff fall of 2013!

LETS GO POKES....BEAT THE AZTECS!

SJSU beating the borg was the first step...now, to make the year complete (now that we are still "a year away"), is for the Pokes to put a righteous smack-down on the Asstecs and the Wolfpack to send out the Smurf with a loss....

That would make a sweet early holiday gift!!!

SDSU likes to shit themselves against us. Usually in San Diego though. The comeback in 2009 and what should have been a shit stomping last year but their kickers shit himself.

Well, last time we lost to them, it was in a shootout during their magical season. This year, their offense is nowhere near as prolific as it was.

And our defense is as anemic as it ever was...

I really think we have a good shot at this game. Very serious here. SDSU reminds me a lot of UNLV and UNM, hardly any strength passing the ball, but good running. If we play like we have the past two week in Laramie we win this game. I think we can stop Muema and Kazee just like we did Randle and Cornett or hold them in check enough that they will need to depend on their passing. I can see us getting up on them and not relinquishing the lead. Go POKES!

I think we need some help from the weather gods in this one. The colder it is, the better. A bit of snow would be ideal... as long as it doesn't prohibit passing at all.

Let's not forget San Diego still beat Boise... they're not a joke. On the other hand, they sure like to give up yards in the air, and that wasn't Boise's strength this year to say the least. Fresno's Carr on the other hand threw for 536 yards against them.

No matter what happens, I sure as hell hope that if we somehow go into half-time with a lead, we continue to play to keep scoring rather than attempt to run out the clock and only start passing when it's third and 12 and they sell out against it.
