Big gift to remodel the west side.

Much needed. What is the 10 year plan for the War? At what point does UW look at building a new stadium? I'd be fine with a retractable roof and full seat backs :)

Come on. That would not be Cowboy Tough!

Also, I bet the Buffalo bills wish they had a dome for their finesse football team.

Yeah, that Monday night game would have been a hell of a lot different in a dome. Also, what's the overall cost projection for the West end renovation? I get the feeling that million bucks is a drop in the bucket compared to overall cost. Not to take anything away from them, it's a very generous gift.

I'm too lazy to look at the release, but if memory serves me correctly the cost of the reno, and press reno expansion was 50 million. With the state match of the donation that would be approximately 4% of the initial quote. I guarantee that cost has risen with inflation.

They are building a new pool too .. or something. There is more cost than the 50 mil for the football stadium.

First, thanks to the Ritchies for this amazing gift to my alma mater.

Second, build the natatorium. It's past time. Our swimming facilities are an embarrassment.

Third, at some point, you have to stop putting lipstick on a pig. Unfortunately, the pig is now adorned with so many costly layers of lipstick that we can't afford to take a different direction. When the upper stands were literally falling apart, they should have started fresh. It's too late now.

Fourth, if Craig isn't into preparing his teams to play anymore, that West side won't be necessary for much longer. We got boat-raced by a team that was in absolute turmoil (reading the news about how everyone at Hawaii hates Graham)...and at home. I'd suggest that before we sink more money into the War, we make sure we have a coach that is, you know, willing to coach.

Fifth, I would put the matching money into completing the AA as envisioned. The long-haul ROI tied to that AA is much, much higher than that of the football program. Again, I appreciate the Ritchies' investment and likely they want it to go to football given his ties to that program, but the state match would be better used for basketball.

I agree with much of the above. Don’t agree with the roi on basketball vs football. Football is way more lucrative

I go onto a message board for Hawaii fans called Sports Hawaii and that place is slowly becoming a dumpster fire. It get nuclear should ANY of the allegations prove to be true.

My loyalty goes to WYOMING only but I made friends on that site (Sports Hawaii) over the years.
