Less New Years Day Bowl Games

With the new playoff system coming up, it looks like there will be far fewer bowl games on New Years Eve and Day so as not to overlap the bigger games.

Also it points out that there will be 39 bowl games next year. With 1 being the Championship, that leaves 76 openings with 122 teams to fill them (125 total, UNLV, Idaho, and Penn State will be ineligible). So if you miss a bowl game, you are in the bottom 37 percentile of D1 FBS football.

I feel like this would be a good place to leave the "there are too many bowl games" argument...

I totally agree with you guys.

However, our leadership really needs to come up with a high profile bowl game for our champ. The Gof5 probably need to work together on this. Maybe something like the highest rated Gof5 vs. first team out of the playoff at ___location.

I'm not saying that is the best idea, just that we really need to work on our post-season opportunities. We need our "Super Bowl" to shoot for.

+1 Exactly. While I love me some Vegas, the fact that the best we can shoot for (minus stringing together consecutive 0-1 loss seasons and praying for a BCS slot) is the Vegas Bowl has always been kind of depressing IMO.

I don't like the bowl system. I don't like the playoff system. There are too many teams in CFB to have a tiny playoff system. I wonder if the CFB playoff system is a grower. ????

the highest rated Gof5 champion plays in one of the "playoff"(not sure what to call them used to be BCS) bowls automatically. I would say thats a pretty good game to shoot for. The sugar, rose, fiesta, cotton etc.
