Latest line favors TCU, BYU & Utah in week 1

I was pleasantly surprised to see that the higher ranked MWC teams, Boise St. and Fresno are all favored in week 1:

Boise @ Virginnia Tech Boise -2 1/2
Oregon St. @ TCU TCU -12 1/2
Wash. @ BYU BYU -3
Pitt. @ Utah Utah -3
Cinn. @ Fresno Fresno -2 1/2


The outlook is a little more bleak for other MWC teams though:

CU @ CSU CU -13
New Mexico @ Oregon Oregon -34
Wisc. @ UNLV Wisc. -20 1/2

CSU will cover as will UNLV not so sure about UNM, CSU always plays CU hard, and UNLV always plays AQ teams hard at home. I am going to do a MWC Parlay: UU, CSU, UNLV and TCU about 20:1 payout

I honestly don't think CSU will beat CU this year. There's nothing CU hates more than the embarrassment of losing to the sheep, as I believe they've shut CSU out as many times as CSU has beaten CU. Losing two years in a row? Doubt it will happen, even with Hawkins as a coach.

The players will make it happen, and I don't think the game will be nearly as close as it's been in the past few years. CU may lose every other game on their schedule, but I doubt they'll lose that one.

BYU better be on its game to beat Washington.. that team's going to be tough with Jake Locker finally being a senior. UW could have a chance to sneak up on the Pac10 this year and take it.

Locker needs to excessively celebrate in the end zone after every touchdown as they easily take down BYU! Just to Spite BYU a few years ago. Wash. should've had that game won. BYU was bailed out like a Government Grant in that one.
I really swear that the Mormons pay off Officials. I've seen bad calls against Wyoming and was called a homer. And then I see bad calls against teams that I don't even care about. I can't be a "Homer" then can I?

Technically, you could be an anti-homer who points out every blown call that should have gone against a team you hate, though. That's certainly the way I am with BYU.

I hate the articles that say they'll likely stay in the MWC. They tried screwing us over - it's time to bend them over a barrel and shove a broom handle all the way in to repay the favor in a proper fashion.

It's also the same Fresno that beat Illinois in their final regular season game. They aren't a push over and I'm glad to have them in our conference. Nevada? meh

in fear of being misunderstood, i agree that fresno is NO slouch...however if wyoming was opening up against cinci they would be >20 point underdogs...plus i just wanted to remember last december for a lil bit

I was quite surprised when I saw that one too! I figured that Fresno's rankings would drop after losing Matthews. I've seen Cincinnati ranked as high as 7th and then not even in the top 25 in other polls. Regardless, it says a lot about Fresno's anticipated strength this season.
