Last time Wyoming had great (or even good) coordinators?

Until Wacha went down in the 2nd half, the defense was actually doing a good job of containing Air Force's triple option. No denying that.

Half of 1 game against a non-traditional offense doesn't mean Stanard is doing a good job.

Once Joe Tiller cleaned house and brought in his own coordinators, all of them were good. Probably some of that had to do with Tiller himself, since they all went with him when he moved on.

Vic Koenning is one of the best coordinators of any variety we've ever had. Too bad the HC thing didn't work out.

Interesting to see Matsakis listed above. He had one really excellent game as an O-coordinator, when we crushed BYU at home on an unseasonably warm November night with the Kofi Shuck popout plays. Other than that, there wasn't really a track record worthy of the nomination.

Didn't say he was doing an overall good job, but I am saying is that Stanard, for some reason, can keep Air Force's triple option to a season low (did the same last year), but struggles to slow down more standard offenses. Just an odd thing I noticed.

Almost makes me wonder if he didn't plan the entire year behind it. Like the ol Dave Christensen AFA Tuesdays - or whatever it was.

We need a quirky offense. Something that teams don't see very often (like the AFA triple option). And a tough as hell defense. I think that is the definition of Cowboy Tough.

Why do we NEED a "quirky offense"? When Vigen isn't being stubborn about trying to run the ball up the middle with 8-9 guys in there and actually changes things up, the offense does move the ball quite well. We are getting big o-linemen. Coffman, when not in meltdown mode, is a pretty good QB. Hill is an absolute beast. Gentry is leading the conference in receiving yards. Cummings is only a sophomore but is one of the better o-linemen the last couple of years.
