Kongbo Was Looking For Bigger and Better

And don't say Brett Smith, because I wouldn't have been surprised if he had left even if DC had stayed.

I think this year it would have be nice to have any of the following: Alex Bush, John Jackson, Kongbo, Daniel Vega, Ryon'e Winters (all Bohl recruits).. our lack of depth has certainly been detrimental. I don't think any individual loses were necessarily detrimental but both Kongbo, Winters, and maybe Bush would have been starters this year. That's not insignificant. Our numbers may or may not be higher than other programs, but I feel like because of the makeup of our roster (especially on defense) we could least afford the attrition we have had.

Valid argument on some of those guys. Wish they would have panned out, but they didn't.

I am simply saying that it isn't that odd that people leave. You want to be closer to family, fine. You take a crap on a school who took a chance on you because you thought you were bigger than the program...shame on you.

Kongbo is DTM now. Peace out Kong.

Give me someone like Granderson who is playing his tail off, way undersized, and who I think will be causing total havoc once Duval has him for a few years.

I agree, we've all quit jobs or marriages or transferred schools, etc.... I wont blame a kid who's 19 and finding his way around the world too much... and I prefer any kid who wants to be in Laramie over any who don't. BUT we also at some have to ponder the fact that the coaches have to be accountable sooner or later for losing top talent that they brought in. If you are a manager and the hires that you wanted to make keep putting your company in a hole, that has to come back on you, eventually.

I see what you are saying, but it happens at every school. I will bet you lunch that USU has 10-12 players that once played at Utah or BYU. Doesn't make Whittingham a bad coach. Just statistically this will happen. And what has happened this year isn't uncommon at all.

Most of the guys who have left....that weren't DC recruits, were from Bohl's first class. A class that had to be whipped together without much time to evaluate, etc. Now that he has been on the job for more than a year, hopefully we'll see less attrition.

Most attrition occurs after a coaching change.....so I think we have weathered the storm. Fingers crossed.

Ryon'e Winters tranferred to FCS Illinois State, then dropped out of that program in August, saying he is done with football. I doubt he would have worked out for any program, so I wouldn't count him against Bohl and staff.
